I had a lawyer friend explain it. They copped a plea with her because they didn't have a strong enough case for a conviction.

It's likely it was a he said she said thing and there was no real evidence, or the kid's family just didn't want him to testify.

Downvote me to oblivion if you want, but my lawyer friend is about as MRA as you get and he saw the reasoning behind it.

While I agree that this would've been a much bigger story if the teacher had been a male... This is also a 'New York's Education System sucks' thing.

my high school has a huge pedophile problem. within the 4 years ive been there have been 3 arrests charged for just that. last year one of my favorite teachers got arrested for it. and just last week my now favorite teacher (because my favorite teacher quit last year) resigned for unknown reasons and its speculated by kids at school she was quitting before they could get her in trouble for something. however i DM’d her the other day and she totally denied all of that and i believe what shes told me. she said she resigned because the school board has had it out for her since july when she was the only person to stand up for our then principle and defend her at her hearing (she was being fired because they were blaming her for the school being total shit. and she told me that since then the school boards been “trying to find any way to get her fired so she quit before they could ruin her career like they did principle smith.” anyways (to relate this to mens issues) two cases of the pedophilia at my school are the male jrotc senior chief allegedly having sex with a female student. the second being a female science teacher who allegedly had sex with a male student. in the case of senior chief the whole school got creeped out by this coming to light and him being arrested, and everyone totally believed the man was guilty. however, when the science teacher got arrested everyone was shocked by the news, and a lot of kids were saying shit like “#FREEMRS____ SHE DIDNT DO SHIT” and a lot of people were joking about the whole situation, which wasnt the case with senior chief, well as it turns out over a year after he was arrested he was found not guilty of any charges, however his career was still ruined and his reputation will never be where it once was. the science teacher on the other hand even though everyone was saying she “didnt do shit” or to free her, well she DID do shit and she was found guilty and is currently serving time. but everyone still loves her...

TL;DR: an example from my life where sexism causes no one to take female pedophilia seriously but when its a man his life is ruined even if he really didnt do anything. (also i ranted about my school seemingly being run by a fucking pedophile ring)

The woman in this instance performed oral sex on the teenager, a 14 year old. This is absolutely a crime, however the implication that this is on the level of , say, a male teacher having sexual intercourse with a 14 year old girl, is absolute nonsense. This was several orders of magnitude less and her sentence, while too lenient in my opinion, was not unreasonable.

If she had sexual intercourse with him, that's another story.... but she didn't. Again, she got too much leniency in my opinion, but not unreasonably so.

If the argument is about the "teaching certificate" that would depend on where this happened , when it happened, etc. . Being a professor myself (part time) ... unlike the rest of you, I know that it is not as simple as implied here and there is a lot that comes into play. Basically I would need to know more details and context before making a determination....

Note that the type of trash on display in the OP is disappointingly similar to feminist/SJW content, I urge you not to adopt it.
