I haven't seen anybody post this, but she was charged with:

Assault in the 3rd degree (misdemeanor) and something else, I can't find the front page post anymore that had the information in it. They were both misdemeanors, that's deplorable. He is 16 years old, she attacked a child.

My point is, what can we do to support this boy and what can we do to change the fact that women think that it's OK to attack someone on the assumption that he is a creep?

The thing is, he is 16 and she is 26. If the genders were reversed, a 26 year old man attacking a 16 year old girl on the beach, he would be in jail for 15+. I doubt she'll even get any jail time at all. The police apparently were also aggressive towards the man before he showed them the video on his phone despite the apparent scratches and ripped clothes. Fun country we live in, isn't it?

It's pretty alarming that the way she assaulted him was with a predisposition to not leave any trace of an assault to support her eventual false accusation.

Also, I can't help but think the unnecessary shirt pulling was to perpetrate the ruse that he had been assaulting her. It's hard for an assault allegation to stick when there is no evidence of it on her person, but if there's evidence of an assault on his person then she could exploit the gender bias to make herself a victim.

Ultimately, the most disheartening thing to me, aside from the slap on the wrists that i know she will get, is that I'll have to continue hearing about how women still have it so bad. Take some fucking responsibility.

If you look at this video and review it a couple of times, there are a couple of other noteworthy aspects. Notice that at the beginning, while she is calling, she has her hand on some piece of the boy's equipment, presumably a modem or battery or something. Notice how close she is standing to the boy; she feels perfectly within her rights to violate his personal space and take his property.

Also, she calls the police, they respond they are coming...THEN she physically assaults the boy. If the police were responding, what is accomplished by assaulting him? She could simply tell him to stay until the police arrive, or follow him if he attempts to leave. From a logical standpoint and if she was sure her legal complaint against him was valid, assaulting him served no purpose at all. If you want someone to stay until the police arrive, you don't assault them. That's just going to make someone leave even faster.

Instead, she felt she was perfectly within her rights to 1) override his right to film in a public place , 2) assume the filming was for some prurient purpose regardless of any evidence supporting this, and 3) assault the boy regardless of the police response. Her sense of personal entitlement to ignore the law, police instructions, the boy's rights, and sheer common sense is breathtaking.

He should have given her three warnings to get off him, and then decked her. I do hope he sues her.

And no bystanders sought to intervene. As some people have said, it's as if all males are going to have to carry cameras to record every interaction with a female.

Just asked my fiancee to watch this video. When she was done I explained the ages of the two and the charges the woman was facing. Her first question was why the kid was taking pictures. I bit my tongue and explained that it doesn't matter, and that taking pictures in public was legal. I asked her to imagine how different it would be if it was a 23 year old man beating a 16 year old girl and she was outraged at the thought of that scenario, and yet still wondering why she should care about this case.

Tl;Dr- Tonight I sleep next to an asshole.

this is great....only in the new america, are you not aloud to take pictures. I hope this lady gets charged with a felony. Who the **** does she think she is? Of course, the judge in this corrupt county will probably throw the case out. However, if gender roles were reversed it would be a couple years in a privately subcontracted prison. Other then not giving her what she deserved..theres not much to say. This is the sickening display of where this country is going. Even if it was in self defense, it’d do nothing positive for him in the face of authority. It’s sickening to realize that in order for this guy to have the woman get arrested, he had to have been videotaping it, instead of getting her the hell off of him.

Things aren’t right when we’re a society of people who feel like we need to record something to secure ourselves, instead of defending ourselves.

What I noticed that was interesting, is that the woman backed off the moment the guy started screaming loudly to passers-by "Help! I'm being assaulted! Call the police!" turning her very tactics against her. Making a huge scene is what she tried to do, and he turned it on her, and it worked.

I went to a nearby beach that is a whopping 2 miles long, set up, talked to some people that were curious what my “thing” was, demonstrated the loiter feature (pulling the quad to one direction or another), demonstrated rtl (flying it away then having it return), and make a lot of people think the quad was just awesome. I never went below 50 feet save for take off/landing, then after the end of my last flight, some crazy lady came over and started taking pictures of me…and dialed 911 for the 3rd time in 15 minutes…she said something to the effect of, “There’s a guy here taking pictures at the beach with a helicopter plane.” (I distinctly remember her saying, “with a helicopter plane,” because that just sounds hilarious.) They basically said that they’d send someone when one gets free during each of the 3 calls she made, she decided they didn’t care enough about someone obeying the law so when no one was around she assaulted me and she decided to stop when she got a phone call. I called the police to report the assault, and boy was the response big…10 or more vehicles arrived (cops, DEEP, and an ambulance)…They first listened to her story of lies (she claimed I was taking close ups of people in bikinis, and that she had asked me to stop flying before calling the police, and that I was the one that assaulted her, and and and). The police approached me very aggressively, believing her full story, and before anything else was said I brought up something that she missed… The fact that the cell phone in my hand has a camera…that was recording. I had video evidence that she went nuts completely unprovoked, and was the one that assaulted me. She was then charged with assault, and breach of peace and I gave the cops a copy of the video for their prosecution. I then also showed them my last flight where you can make out her colorful shirt getting up from the beach then following it until it lands which proved that she lied when claiming that she asked me to stop flying before calling the police. At the end of it all, one of the officers said to me basically, “Flying that thing the way you were is fine, you’re not in any trouble. You can come back and fly, but just be aware that some people can be alarmed.”

Just a funny thing to add, last time I was there, a British guy had come up to me and said he thought it was a giant mosquito near him. He said that he first saw snake on a hike here in the States as they don’t have them in the UK, and thought giant mosquitoes were another animal they didn’t have.

Just for the complete story- does anyone know if the pictures/recording this kid was taking would have classified as creep shots on any level?

I'm not just talking about the legality of what he was doing, but do we have any reason to think he was attempting upskirt/downblouse or other lewd photos that would have made people uncomfortable or feel unsettled?
