So about a year and a half ago my wife (35) decided she wanted to separate after we had a bad fight on vacation. We have two children ages 7 and 10. She told me she needed space but we stayed living together. I did not take it well at all. I continued to try and win her back and it wasn’t working. I found out she was going on dates with someone we knew. When I found out she told me she had planned to see him that night and I had to let her so she could know if she really wanted our marriage. She said she ended it that night, but the next week we didn’t speak much. She said she still wasn’t sure and went to a therapist who told her we should take three months to separate and even see other people. I went into a pretty bad depression. Was a complete mess. She moved out soon after that and wouldn’t tell me where she moved to. She’d come home during the week and leave on weekends. Completely eliminated me from her social media. All pictures of me and us were basically gone. She told people I cheated on her which was not true. Changed her name on social media. She came home in January and told me she wasn’t ready to commit yet. If I brought it up she would say that every time I discuss it we go back to stage one. Two months ago I asked out she felt about everything and she said she’s not in love with me but our friendship is getting better. So about a month ago I told her she had two weeks to decide what she’s doing after that I’m considering us divorced. Ten days went by and she didn’t even talk to me. Meanwhile at work a woman comes up to me who’s been a friend during this whole time I’ve been going through this at work and explains to me that she’s had feelings for me the whole time.
Now my wife comes to me on day 14 and says she wants to try again. I’m lost to be honest….I feel like If there were no kids in the picture I wouldn’t be here. Honestly I’m terrified to break my kids hearts with a divorce. But I’m also extremely hurt by everything and now my wife thinks I should just be completely normals after all of this. Any advice would be great…
