Yup. lesbians discuss this all the time. How its frustrating hearing bullshit about men being visual and just so visually attracted to women that everything relating to women is sexualized.

Because we are attracted to women too (honestly, more so- becasue we are madly in love/attracted to *all* of a woman, and not just a sexualized, dolled up, "perfect" woman, wrapped up in a very specific type of femininity). And yet lesbians (most of) don't overly sexualize every single woman they see, in person, or on a screen or page. And if they do, the sexualization is rarely OBJECTIFICATION. Being so "visual" is literally not an excuse for how men objectify women, and see them as if they aren't even full people.

People who really have a taste for aesthetics are the types who see aesthetics in everything. They dress well, are put together, they value aesthetics in their homes and living spaces, every feature of their lives really. Most people who are like this are women, but some men are as well. They're usually called 'gay' or metrosexual (in the US) by slob men who don't take care of themselves, live in filth, look like shit, most are fat, and dress like toddlers in their 30s.

I've always hated this narrative. I remember once as a pre teen I said I was going to try out for cheerleading and I kid you not a church lady said "you know the boys like cheerleaders". My 12 year old brain was floored. It made me terrified of being attractive to the opposite sex.

It's always if a man likes an attractive woman, it's "men are visual creatures". But if a woman says she likes a man with abs, thick hair and nice muscles then all of a sudden you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. They tout this nonsense to not only humble women into lowering their standards, but to also say as women we should ugly it up to avoid attention (which is never the case).

And as for nature, the male peacocks are the ones with the pretty plumage to attract a mate. If men are so visual, why are most of them so ugly with receding hair lines and dad bod? 🤮

Imagine if strong young men were being routinely abducted off the street and trafficked for hard labor or just forced to haul gravel for a day or pour a driveway and then dumped at a strange freeway exit with no shoes. Then imagine these buff young men try to prosecute or sue their exploiters but the defense attorneys argue what bysyanders and media commenters are all saying: "If he didn't want to haul bricks in 90 degree heat, why did he work out so much? Why was he showing off biceps, pecs and thigh muscles in tight pants and a mesh t-shirt? Of course homeowners needing odd jobs done and construction foremen are going to view this as an invitation..."

We’re told the first lie that men just have to go after age-inappropriate, younger women because BioLoGy. Then, the second lie which is “MeN aGe LiKe FiNe WiNe” bs to gaslight women into going along. As if young women are seriously going to be just as attracted to men old enough to be their fathers or grandfathers as they are to guys their own age. I’ve never believed that men are more visual, they just watch more porn than women. Women are far more likely to notice little details about almost anything than men, hence women dress better, style their homes better etc.

I remember reading an article in Elle magazine as a teenager which was discussing a study that was done to assess the visual sexual response differences between men and women, and actually the women studied were more aroused by visual stimuli than the men. I kept all my old issues so it will be somewhere in my storage unit, I’ll have to post it here when I dig it out.

Men claiming they are visual creatures is just a cover for their pathological objectification of women.

The reality is that women are just as visual as men and also find signs of aging in men unappealing just like they find that unappealing in women. Women and HVM (like e.g. Keanu Reeves) understand however, that aging is a part of life, and can still see beauty in people past stuff like gray hair and wrinkles.

As a very visual woman, I’ve always hated this bold-faced lie. Men know it’s a lie too. Male attractiveness helps women gauge their health and virility, which would be crucial in reproduction. Sorry, a fat balding man in his 50s is not it. There are many tribal cultures that recognize women’s visual attraction and the men show off their strength and physical attractiveness accordingly.

When men took control of women’s bodies and autonomy in patriarchal cultures, it no longer mattered whether a woman felt sexual attraction or pleasure, because she was chattel to be traded and had no sexual agency. Over the millennia, this devolved into us being told that women don’t like sex, that female orgasms are either not real or are unnecessary or sl.utty/depraved (such as the horrific practice of female genital mutilation) and that women aren’t visual. Men wanted complete sexual control over their baby-making “property.”
