These guys can’t possibly want to be in the type of relationship where they’re putting in equal effort. I don’t think most men want that, if only because- while I haven’t encountered this “wfh” specifically- I see how men move mountains to get other things they want, and I’m seeing this low effort thing in dating as quite common.

Perhaps they step up for women who they’re truly gaga for, but that only tends to happen, not from a random dating profile, but when they’ve gotten to know her in a platonic sense first, or have had plenty of time to stalk, say, a friend of a friend on IG (but if all your pics are just focused on your looks, that’s what they’re valuing).

If this was an audition process, it would be guys half assing until there was a role for a show that they already value and know, then they’re tripping over themselves. They don’t really see inherent value in getting cast, in and of itself.

You’d get a lot less matches if a match required a resume from a man (like an audition does), few would put in the work, but you’d have a better sense of who is actually worth your time. And unfortunately, it seems that there are still a number of women who don’t know their worth that take on sexual risk for these low efforts (take heart though, FDS is scaring men and they’ve mostly moved past the “make fun of and dismiss it” stage and are starting to get angry, which is a good sign that it’s taking hold IRL), and I think they’re thinking they’ll be a lucky winner.....they’d rather buy lotto scratchies and maybe make a quick buck, so to speak, than sit down and thoughtfully apply for a gig.

I honestly don’t understand why anyone wastes time on OLD- which requires one photo and a HulkSmash! on the keyboard to meet the character requirement- unless she is ridiculously hot and he figures his friends would be impressed, but then again, you’re being judged on really shallow criteria there (and while you’ll perhaps attract the super choosy ones, you’ll still attract the inept...men are confident like that). Personally, I don’t want that.

On the topic of working from home...just because I’m at home does not mean I’m free anytime to leave or for them to come over. It also doesn’t mean I’m willing to give up my lunch break to go see them or sit on the phone with them. Them disrespecting my work ethic and schedule just pisses me off and is a HUGE turnoff.
