Such a good question! Yes, for the right person, but I would be vetting extra hard, understanding that my wealth situation would rule a lot of people out, also pre-nup is a must
[–]WildTendernessFDS Newbie[S] 33 points34 points35 points 5 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Yea, I'm just wondering, dating and vetting are already a disaster... And with that kinda income! I'd imagine that finding a "fit" HVM would be a million times harder lol
[–]understatedalways 70 points71 points72 points 5 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
I am very wealthy and it is insanely hard. Most men have to be ruled out right away. I thought growing up that being beautiful, kind, talented, wealthy, etc. would assure me a good future with a nice family and a man who adored me. WRONG! Most men who have at least as much money as me have a god complex. Men who make less feel insecure and emasculated no matter how pretty and feminine I am. Time to get a dog. Lol.
[–]ArugulaIsAwesome 28 points29 points30 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes on the lower income emasculation. There’s no way around it.
I travelled with a hippie fellow for awhile in my twenties and essentially ended up a sugar momma. He couldn’t afford to do any activities so if I wanted to do something I’d have to pay for both of us or just reserve myself to sitting on the beach all day.
At least he was an attentive lover, so not all bad. 😊

Can I ask how wealthy are you? Are you a millionaire?

Yes.

The more money I earn the less interested I seem to be in men. I can support myself and have a really fun, exciting life. Why would I want to add a lazy scrote to the equation?
[–]Relevant-Giraffe7200Throwaway Account 19 points20 points21 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
What difference does it make if you have less money tho? Still you can have fun and do all the things you want without a lazy scrote.
[–]trettlesFDS Disciple 47 points48 points49 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I couldn't afford my own place & travel alone before I was earning a solid income. A partner makes those things a lot cheaper.
[–]Relevant-Giraffe7200Throwaway Account 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, but isnt it easier to earn more rather than putting up with all the crap from LVMs?
[–]PasdepromessesFDS Disciple 15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, but I think most women are raised with the believe that they ‘need a man to be complete’ and have lot to unlearn.
Most of them aren’t aware of this in their early twenties. And this is also the time that you’re studying, having a starter job, etc.
I think women in their late twenties and thirties begin to know their worth, unlearn a lot of unhelpful behaviour and are simultaneously more successful in their careers. This is a great motivator and actually makes it possible for them to leave unhappy relationships if they want to.
That’s why I’m really happy that a lot of girls nowadays marry and have children a bit later in life. It’s 1000 times harder to walk away when you have children thrown in the mix and your career didn’t really took off. It’s also more likely that you vetted for a HVM if you’re a older, especially if you’re raised by non-HV parents.

I would literally by land and build a secret women's only neighborhood. I am good on the marriage 😂. My bf at the time could just love me from a distance and stay away from me at his house.

Id live in that neighborhood!

God no! I’d enjoy my money.
[–]Random192859184 18 points19 points20 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I’m not sure I ever want to get married anyway (I still doubt that HVM exist to be honest). But I have a lot of experience with men taking advantage of women not only emotionally and physically, but financially too. So if I were rich I don’t think I’d take that chance.
[–]WildTendernessFDS Newbie[S] 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's perfectly fair! There would be a lot of risk getting married to someone at that net worth
[–]Cosmictears83 14 points15 points16 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Absolutely not. Too much to lose, nothing to gain. I can hire anyone for anything I may need in life.
[–]theingenueloverFDS Newbie 35 points36 points37 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yes. To a HVM who is only a teeny tiny bit richer than me. Plus, the house is under my name.
[–]RabidWenchFDS Disciple 37 points38 points39 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I have yet to see any man with that kind of net worth who isn't a sociopath. I'd go for a hard no.
[–]yolosunshine 18 points19 points20 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I also have this question. I wonder often where the relative wealth cutoff point is before the population becomes sociopathic at a >40% concentration.
[–]CassieGreen85 31 points32 points33 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Hell, I'm covid-unemployed and before that made minimum wage, and I really don't give a shit about marriage.
Having 20m a year would not only allow me to be set for life, I could set my parents and my brother for life, then set some for my nephews and nieces, and then donate to a lot of women-only orgs and animal sanctuaries and shelters.
Last thing I wanna do is marriage. (kids aren't even a question since I'm childfree)
[–]Lavender_flowFDS Apprentice 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would still marry my current partner, but I would have a stone clad prenup. Only reason I would divorce him would be over a betrayal. He is vetted real hard, but a lesson I learned in life is you never know 100%. I feel like that for both men/women. Never trust anyone 100%, people can be devious.
[–]GreatRedYonder 7 points8 points9 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes with one HELL of a prenup.
[–]tera9210 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mais much less and the answer is already 'not really'
[–]heleninthealpsFDS Apprentice 28 points29 points30 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
For me its still yes, because I want a family, children and their father/my husband having the same last name. Basically things I'm not planning to try to buy.
It's a very good question to ask to see people's motivations - if it's for financial support, being afraid to be s single mom without help, or traditional values.
[–]WildTendernessFDS Newbie[S] 14 points15 points16 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I find this very interesting! I'm sorta in limbo. Traditionally, a man's job is to protect, provide and procreate, so if you're looking at it from that perspective, having a massive income would be able to grant you that. On the other hand, there's definitely something special about the prospect of having a family with someone and growing old together.
Thanks for sharing!
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Only if he was the same income level as me.
[–]UnpeacefulLily 6 points7 points8 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't even make up to 2% of that and I don't want to get married.
[–]foxfaebaeFDS Newbie 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes with a pre-nup.
[–]maraslove 3 points4 points5 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I would sign a pre-nup because women making too much money attracts hypergamous losers. I really want children mostly. That’s the only reason why I would, smh lol.
[–]rebel4acauseFDS Newbie 5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes, but only to a HVM that would add value to my life.
[–]Introambi1FDS Newbie 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nope
[–]Nifteroni-and-CheeseFDS Newbie 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I mean, marriage isn’t a goal for me to start, I can take it or leave it, and if feel the same at any income level. I’d love to start a family and teach little mini-me’s about the world, if love to live on my own in a cottage fostering high-needs kids and kittens, I’d love being the kooky old math professor who’s like an unofficial grandmother to all her students, there are so many awesome things ahead of me regardless of if I get married, so if I meet the right person that’s cool, but if not, that’s cool too.
[–]throwaway23004345FDS Newbie 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nope bc you can outsource. You could even adopt a kid so men are pretty useless unless they want to provide
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I am absolutely interested in marriage, to find a man who I genuinely get along with, who adds value, whose family I can get along with, and who will respect me.
The problem isn't that men like that don't exist - it's just that it's the universal HVM that all women want, and he has his pick.
Ideally, he will want to be with someone of his calibre, because dating down into oblivion is LVM behavior - men who do that just want a slave, not a counterpart.
It can be very difficult to have your life together, make a ton of money, and be generally happy with yourself, and then find a man who still adds value most of the time.
Also, a lot of men want to be the cake, and not the cherry on top of your life.
Still a hard no. If I earned 5k a year it would still be a hard no. I'm not trapping myself into a situation that's hard to untangle from. Furthermore, if you're not trying your hardest now then you never will. A ring and a certificate of ownership isn't going to change that.
[–]99natasFDS Newbie 2 points3 points4 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I make a very decent income and I definitely make more than 99% of people, makes it hard and most of the people I come in contact with are on my payroll.
I’m not sure I’m attractive anymore, my bf was not interested and no one has asked me out in two years.
I miss the smell of a man and their nice fur, guess I could hire one for a couple hours but it would be better if they liked me for myself.
So there’s that.
[–]AnniaTFDS Disciple 4 points5 points6 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes if he was the right person but he'd either be a millionaire or a successful man and there would have to be a prenup.
[–]ResponsibleRichFDS Newbie 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Never....for what? The only benefit I see in marriage is the extra income. If I don’t need that I don’t need to be married. We can be companions all day, but marriage would be a hard NO even if I was a millionaire.
[–]Alma00019 1 point2 points3 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes. I want to get married for the connection and companionship, not for money.
