What a sweet thread and a break from my own negativity lol! I never think about all the good I'm doing now, just what I COULD be doing.

I am strong, hardworking. I come from an abusive childhood, kicked out by both parents, severe neglect, etc. Despite it all I'm getting my degree, have a job I enjoy, making connections for a future internship, etc..My father said I would be a loser bitch and I'm proving them all wrong by leading a happy, educated life and treating my loved ones good.

Imma flex for a sec because that’s how I’ve been feeling lately. I’ve been struggling with my Crohn’s disease for the last year or so and my entire summer consisted of being in and out of hospital, multiple tests, chronic debilitating pain, emotional grief, surgery, extreme weight loss and fatigue, and learning a whole new different life and intense physical therapy post op; and out of all of it I’m realizing just how strong, brave, and disciplined I am. I’m still away on leave from work and will be for a while longer. However, I’m looking forward to rebuilding my body and mind in the coming months and getting ready to live a new life that isn’t full of pain and suffering. This sub and it’s values keep me going daily.

I’m hardworking and reliable. People can always count on me at work because I show up and do my job. I’m also very intelligent and have a degree in the sciences to show for it, I kept up a high GPA at an academic minded college that only accepts the top 50% of high school students. I am a really cool mom (my kids tell me daily that I’m the best). It’s the best compliment I’ve ever received.

I’m also giving, a good friend, compassionate, and my career is also working with students in wheelchairs who are medically fragile. I’m single and my life is perfect.
