He's either suggesting that men are privileged as is and need to further aid from leftist progressiveness, or assuming that at this stage the leftist alienation of young struggling men is blatantly obvious and would be shameful to even question it at this point.

It cant be talked about because it will acknowledge and give light and air to the problem. Which undermines there belief that all men are oppressors by nature. Man are the enemy to most of the intersectional zealots and acknowledging that men can be victims undermines the religion.

I truly hate that mentality of "men are so privileged that men's issues aren't even worth seriously discussing."

Unfortunately, both the left and the right marginalize the issues of men and boys, albeit often in different ways. Both downplay male victims of abuse, either because they should "man up, and it's just 'different' when it happens to a guy" or because "male privilege, and besides men cause all their own problems via patriarchy."

Far-left theories work much better in case they include inadmissibility of non-economic coercion of men into dangerous labour, including conscription. Unfortunately, far-left tradition has a big period of viewing men as those who should be used as cannon fodder for world socialist revolution and women as those who need liberation.

Personally, I'd rather see more discussion of actual mens issues, rather than the endless babble about how we trick them into voting for people who hate them.

OTOH, in a year of big elections, alienating the largest of all minorities is likely to be a problem, especially with the ongoing trend of young men being less and less likely to identify as liberal. American Democrat in particular are staring down the barrel of an electoral disaster due to alienating voters over Gaza, and alienating young men is something they ought to be very concerned about.
