In school, at 16, when my teacher kept telling the boys to "close their legs" and stop forcing girls to give birth to kids they can't take care of.

Seeing girls hit boys and everyone stands around and laughs until the guy hits back, and then the white knights grab the guy or fight him back and he gets in trouble for it.

At 16 scrolling through social media and every video I see was against men, telling me to off myself, the KAM trend in 2020, telling me I'm a rapist, telling me I caused all the problems in the world, seeing videos about "if men didn't exist."

After being brought up thinking men were bad and dangerous, women are kind and soft until I realised all the men in my life weren't bad and dangerous or any of those things. Realising the way they portray women was all a lie and that's when it hit me

The day where in the PE lesson the same day as a whole school assembly about feminism and gender 'equality' we did a cross country run, which is actually running around the school field. Boys did 5 laps and the girls did 3. Me and several others (none of which were the girls) protested this and got written up for our effort.

Whenever there's a difference in outcome that mostly benefits women, it's called empowerment and isn't treated like a gap that needs to be closed when it benefits men.
Feminists never advocate for equal representation in physically demanding blue collar jobs and only go for prestigious white collar jobs.
Women want their BF's/husbands to do half of the chores, but are unwilling to pay half of the bills.

I remember the ancient time when internet&media wasn't infested with feminist agitprop. It all started with Feminist Frequency, all the youtubers were dunking on Feminism until 2013ish, then everything changed. In 2011. Articles started popping up here and there that were clearly bitter, hateful, and misandrist. The writers said they were feminists. I thought if they are so angry there must be a reason. So I dove into study. I read tons of feminist literature, poured over studies quoted by feminists, studied their version of history. I found the literature self contradictory, hypocritical, and irrational. The studies were cooked: cherry picked and misinterpreted. The history far more complex than their simplistic childish self aggrandizing fiction. It would take a couple more years before I felt I came to fully understand what it all is actually is about.

Today - assuming the subject includes gender, women, or men - it's rare to see an article that isn't bitter, hateful, and full of misandry.

The moment I showed up from work and a MAN served me with divorce papers and told me I don't live in my home anymore. And then the circus of the anti-family courts where a male judge and female lawyers, female staff, female therapists, female mediators, female court clerks, female state legislators all told me that my money wasn't mine and that i was a "Non Custodial Parent" and had to the deadbeat ex child support and alimony all because she was too lazy to get a job and got paid for it by the state.

I think it was about 10 years ago or so. It came from one question.

When is the last time they stood up for men?

And then I noticed the answer is never. When women do wrong, they rally in her corner. When they do wrong towards men, they rally in her favor. When the men are wronged by society, an entity, anything really, there's zero support for the men, from them especially.

In 50 years of feminism, they've not ever once stood up against women taking advantage of men. Not once did up for men being at any disadvantages. Where are the feminist rallies against men being screwed over about anything? Any male injustice?

Once I questioned that, it was easier to question other things. Like how they claim they are about equality. Yet, they ignore the down sides that women don't have, that men do, for the same privileges. They ignore how few rights men have at all. They claim women have no rights, and need more, yet cannot ever name one that men have that women do not. They say they fought for the rights that women have, yet everything they say they fought for was actually men who fought for them to have those privileges. Like for voting, most women didn't want to, because men were only allowed to because they had to sign up for the draft. Yet, men fought to get rid of the draft for women if they got the right to vote. Yet in 50 years, not once have they fought to equalize that. Instead, they point out that they "had to fight men" to get those rights. They completely disregard the work that men did to give them those rights, completely disregard any efforts of men.

They claim men are the biggest hindrances of other men expressing themselves. Yet, I can't tell you how many women I've seen turn disrespectful, or rude, or turn away from men, after they showed them their vulnerable side.

It's all a bucket of trash. It's all just some giant scheme to manipulate men into bending more, just so women can get power. That's all it is

I was 30, there was a woman. Some random woman on the street. She said other things to me but I can't remember. I was told to shut up I am a man and privileged and don't have a right to argue. I was stunned, not once in my life did I ever feel privileged. My life is shit and a constant struggle. Always has been.

What really did it were my sister and mother, father killed himself after a near 20 year marriage ending in divorce. He was cheated on, then my mother got pregnant. Years later, I tried going to the last of my immediate family, mother and sister, for comfort. I opened up to them about things in my life, the past and the now. I got literally laughed at, and mother said it wasn't her fault.

Now that brought on a whole new set of problems, no trust in women, family or opening up to anyone. Last half of that may not be because of feminisms but it did cause me to become knowledgeable about society by way of research. Why I am here now.

I was the most feminist person in my life until I got worn down by a waterfall of bullshit. My ultimate tipping point was being threatened with a false title IX case after I demanded my ex-girlfriend apologize for calling me a slur. Once they learned of it, all of the other feminists I knew, from my best friend to my grandma immediately told me that I had to pull out all the stops because men are treated as guilty until proven innocent.

I realized that men aren't nearly as powerful as we're made out to be, and that the people screeching about it don't actually believe we are either. The male feminists see it as an avenue to "defend our maidens" while the women get involved because it's a masturbatory girl power revenge fantasy. None of it is actually about improving anyone's lives. The feminists I know don't even operate in reality. At best, I've had bogus stats from 40 years ago thrown at me then presented as if they apply today. The only real issue they have is abortion, and guess what? We've never had abortion access.

The real irony of it all is that I've been shamed for "abandoning women." My belief in equality, despite being unchanged, has been openly questioned time and time again, even though I have unironically done more for women's rights than these people ever have. I went to events, I argued with people, ffs I even convinced people multiple real-life people I know to become feminists. However, now that I openly assert that men are human beings with equal value to women, I'm a misogynist incel.

I came across The Red Pill Documentry. This woke me up to something. The unfair expectation and apathy society have for men. This might have been JUST in another era, In the age of raging feminist i fluenced society this is extremely unfair almost felt like indirect mental slavery .
With rise of tiktok and social media wester dynamics have started to have heavy influence on the 2000s born generations. Then you see modern women holding you to traditional men standard while simultaneously they let go of their end in name of empowerment (They use feminist propagand from west to justify this). Things made far worse when they use old world era laws enforced by the government to indirectly enslave and bully men. It almost felt lile vast majority of women in history never had any honor and were only playing women are wonderful effect because they never had any options or bargaining power.

All these led me to libertarianism. I felt thats were men can be truly free.

I awakened pretty early. I was 13 when I first saw girls provocatively bitchslapping guys and then trying to be cute by saying "But I'm a girl, you can't hit me back!"

I was always the only guy who would retaliate if a girl hit him, because fuck that shit. I'm not going to treat you any differently just because you have a vagina and I don't. You are every bit as capable of making decisions as I am, and you could have chosen to not hit me.

During the course of my teenage years, I learned more about feminism and began to see it as a movement that never took any accountability. The blame was always on others, never on them. They were God's gift to the Earth and they could never, ever be wrong. That didn't sit well with me, especially when I saw feminists getting away with jokes that would spark real-life riots if it had been the other way around ("Kill All Men").

All in all, feminism never did much to convince me that they were a bunch of good people advocating for gender equality. I think they're power-hungry narcissists and knew they were long before I knew the word for it.

one pivotal moment for me was when I was dating this woman who started planning our marriage and telling me the changes I would need to make once we got married, the things I would be responsible for, and oh, by the way, she might invite her dad to live with us. I asked "what do I get?" and she replied with "me!" I mentioned this to my parents, and my mom said to me "well that's everything isn't it?" It was at that point that I realized this was majorly fucked and it was not just one outlier of a woman that might feel entitled to this treatment, but that a good portion of the female population might just feel that way too.

But their blatant double standards didn’t really become obvious until the later’90’s when the total onesidedness of their “equality claims” became obvious (education numbers and the demands action be taken regarding male majority units but not female majority ones). This is also when they started lying about family court decisions and pretended that women are “discriminated against” in these and that courts favour men. Previously they just said it was “men’s fault” for not taking on enough of the burden of raising the kid. But early 2000’s they moved to outright deception.

Feminists… years ago, before widespread internet. Just listen or read a feminist speech or two and the hate for men of all walks and types are patently obvious.

Wider society, that’s more recent. Generally I think most of it is either historic disposability, learned and / or unconscious. However the more you look for it the more you see.

There is no widespread notice of the dismissive attitudes towards male pain and suffering, towards male opinions but these days you have an added layer of active hate lumped on top of that due to current activism around ‘patriarchy’, ‘white males’ and ‘anti- alphabet whatever’. On the other side there are these unrealistic and often damaging expectations for ‘ultra traditional’ men that are just mostly, and have always mostly been, horseshit.

Since becoming a father years ago it has also ramped up towards fathers and it very hard not to see.

A little over a decade ago, here in this subreddit thanks to pioneers like Karen Straughan. I guess I also felt it inside somewhere. I also wanted a girl instead of a boy as a potential offspring because girls had everything going for them and everything boys did was shunned.

I used to want to teach to be someone young men could look up to, and feminism and the pre-metoo movement absolutely crushed that with the constant vilification of men in academia.

I do my best to raise my daughter to be someone who will understand what men need, and I'm fortunate enough to have a wife that understands my anti-feminism completely, and even agrees in most aspects.

I'm not as big into the mra movement as I was, though. There's a lot of negative emotions that are very hard to escape from when you're always surrounded by the absurdity.

When I got to university, made a Twitter account, and was confused by the abundance of Misandry on there. Moreover the mental gymnastics that these women would come up with to hate the entire male sex for the most obtuse and illogical reasons. Around this time (2018), I discovered the Red Pill and MGTOW communities, and learned some harsh truths about what issues men have in modern society that were being swept under the rug. The hypocrisy of these feminists to stay silent, or to worse yet say "men are the problem" when a father's kids were taken away from him, or a man was falsely arrested of crimes like DV or SA, it seriously boiled my blood. I developed some resentment against women for some time (unhealthy I know), but now I've gotten over it and realize there are many great women too, those who acknowledge men's issues, and bad apples exist in both genders. I also distanced myself from the Manosphere spaces since many of the things they advocated for are against my faith, but at least I'm more informed when it comes to divorce laws, so if I decide to pursue marriage, I will leave the USA and go abroad to another country to settle down.

I disagree with some feminist preaches in western media, but i think feminism acts are needed in places like Kr and JP, those places are fucked.

But i think women are treated lot better, if not equal, to men here. I think the rage of feminism should be directed in other places of the world where women really need it, and bring attention to the issues in other countries.

Im not very knowledgable on how the average joe or something in the us sees a woman. I feel confident that over the years, generally, kids were taught to see a woman as another person in the us.

I think recently, people should realize both men and women suffer from loneliness and depression though. I was wrong about that before i realized women, too, had an outlet where they could talk to eachother or vent.

I try to be more optimistic now though. Ive been trying to ignore or dismiss a lot of drama and social media stuff so that I could keep my values.

Context: I am not from USA.

Pretty much from childhood. During school and childhood, I always kept asking why girls weren't treated the same as boys and as I grew up, why there was a disproportionate amount of focus on womens history. But it didn't make sense cuz girls were treated better than boys in a lot of cases. It finally clicked in adulthood and one deep dive later, it all made sense.

I found the red pill, anti SJW stuff, right wing (as per USA) stuff later.

I am still a feminist. The classical kind. The one that believes in equality. Not equity. I come from a country where women are oppressed still but the reason is more to do with lack of education and resources than systemic. Most of the poor in my country are still fighting for survival. That being said, our laws also are very much skewed against men.

I figured out that I'd grown up hearing all the slogans 'all men are pigs', that kind of thing, realized I'd grown up learning to hate men.

I looked at the fresh scars on my wrists and connected the dots.

It is quite literally written into the legal code and has been for a long time.

I remember disliking toxic third wave feminism the moment I saw it though, I was also about 16 or younger even. I think growing up made me realize it was just the crazy feminists that are against men but also most conservatives (conservatives hate feminists, but it doesn't mean they want men to have rights either).

I'll say that not all feminist are against men's rights, (some are definitely) but some women's issues can be a sort of zero sum game with men's, and women usually win those, because western society always cared more about women traditionally.

Growing up you’re kind of indoctrinated to think that and a guy you have it better than women until you go through some shit and start thinking for yourself that’s when you see the truth.

My journey was a bit unusual. I was a staunch feminist into young adulthood, just as my mother raised me to be. That is, until I got to college.

For English 102, we had to write a big-ass research paper on any topic. I decided to pick something easy to argue: the wage gap. A simple fact to prove and condemn, right? But the more I researched, the more factors I equalized, the smaller that gap became. I was stunned. There must be some mistake. But the math was solid.

I took that revelation to my mother, sister, and the women around them, who'd taught me how to think. Surely they'll be thrilled to know that, at least in this ONE way, the issue is just an illusion. But they just dismissed everything I said without a moment's consideration, all of them. That was a shock. It made me suspicious of some of the other claims I never bothered to look into. And while a select few held up, I was horrified to see just how many of them fell apart under closer inspection.

I realized feminism was a problem when I learned how much of the ideology is based on assumptions, half-truths, and sometimes outright lies.

There is a lot of bad stigma today against men. However, there is a difference between feminism and misandry. Feminism and “Meninism” hope for the same thing! Feminism isn’t a bad word, maybe you just hate aggressively politically correct and bitter women.

Most “anti-feminist” podcasters, reporters, and social media “influencers” if that’s what you want to call them share SUCH an extreme idea of how the world works. Look at real instances of interaction with actual statistics instead of far right wing guys that are just trying to say outlandish shit to get your attention…

I agree that there are differences in the different gender’s reputations, but “normal” people don’t walk around every day proclaiming their anti-men propaganda, and “normal” men aren’t going around assaulting or thinking about it every day… I am untrusting of men, but you would feel the same way about your daughter walking down the street with a strange man. It’s just basic biological facts of size & strengths.

OP, please don’t fall down this pipeline. As a on the spectrum individual, I know how uncomfortable perceived societal norms can effect my ability to talk to men for the same reason you are scared of women,

I think it’s important to point out that BOTH men AND women are scared to talk to eachother. Forming (and joining) secluded groups just encourages that divide between our genders.

I genuinely would love to hear anyone out and have a genuine conversation about this…

The thing is this: Women at large are not against us. The "me too" movement is small. The vast majority of women want to marry a man who provides, protects, and allows her to stay home with the kids. Just ignore the nonesnse man. All that noise is coming from such a small vocal minority.

I apologize for y’all had experience you had with a few women. But those aren’t feminist and definitely not what they represent or stand for. A feminist is literally just a woman who wants women rights. It started because women couldn’t vote, wear pants, couldn’t even have their own bank account, then abortion a became apart next women wanted an education. It’s about equality letting women get the same opportunities if they want or to be able to do things they can. Women couldn’t even wear pants at one point. You don’t have to hate men or wish bad on men to be a feminist. But as men we have to acknowledge the men in society who has made it hard for women especially the women in our life. Instead of feeling personally attacked we need to focus on the men who have made women feel the way they do or the men who have assaulted women or think assaulting women is a joke. I had a male friend who I stood by right or wrong til I found out he was a rapist. I didn’t want to believe it but there was proof ALOT of proof I had to apologize to the girl because I called her a liar and all kind of names. Me doing that was adding on to certain stereotypes. As men we have to take some accountability too because we never listen to women when they talk or try to understand them instead we get defensive even when they’re not even directing what they saying at us

Society isn’t against us at all. Your perception of it can change a lot, and the media you listen to can only make you feel worse homie.

There are things that suck, there are chicks that are lame, there are situations that don’t pan out great as a man. But I don’t think things are all glitz and glam for women either, albeit, things are different for sure.

I see this sentiment very often in this sub, and while I understand, I think you can do a lot to improve your own mindset and navigate this confusing society if you work towards doing so. I used to feel the same way but took a step back to just focus on myself and work on positivity.

I dont like toxic masculity. I hope I never date a men ever again. Most men are selfish, arrogant, insensitive and only have empathy for beautifull young woman. Your sexual driven behaviours make me sick. Biologically speaking, almost everything about a men's neurobiochemistry is bad and toxic for an heterossexual woman in a monogamic relationship. I realized that only when I became 34 years old. Dont know how long it takes for a man to realize what a selfish humam being he is.

That said there are feminists who are against men. For various reasons I suppose. I realized this in 2011 when working on a particular project with several women. My experience working with women is just as varied as working with men. The particular woman who enlightened me just hated "men", the made up imaginary stereotype male that society thinks is predominate.

IMHO, the MeToo movement wasn't dangerous. There are many situations where women experience negative situations due to their sex. I think MeToo was very positive.

But it morphed into some rather extreme views. "believe all women" and other unreasonable demands became reasonable. A good thing was cooped by extreme views.

I love how there’s barely any energy for the men in power who uphold patriarchal values that you all claim to be suffering under but turn around to point fingers at women who are even more subjugated under the existing system.

The lot of you are laughable cowards who don’t want to stand up to the men that are actually at the root of the problem.
