They're hypocritical like this on purpose because they're a bunch of feminists trying to give men a "taste of their own medicine". To try and show that their own indignation over being unfairly objectified is justified. Ie. they feel that women get scrutinized and called fat and ugly all the time in the media while men get a pass, so they're saying "let's see how men like it when we do the same".
