The taoists have a term called "Wu-Wei" which is used to describe a sort of effortless action. It might be better explained as the art of not forcing. They want to strive to live in a constant state of flow which means no overthinking and no inauthenticity.

In my experience this is the complete opposite of how most westerners live. Most people seem to put in a lot of effort and suffer a lot of stress to avoid loneliness and to please the opposite sex. It's almost entire lifestyles of chasing women, being attractive for men and putting yourself out there, for example on social media.

The question I find interesting is, would dating work for someone who does not actively think about it and does not actively think about the opposite sex?
