I don't believe in "women." There's no larger female zeitgeist and I talk to every woman as a singular person. I think the halo effect is the other half of the coin of inter gender delusion that fuels men who unrealistically dislike women. It's pretty interesting when you think about the history of germophobia. Not too long ago we didn't even have the concept of "germs" or hygiene. Which is interesting if you think about it because if evopsych is creating all these behaviors, germophobia would be a pretty damn obvious one to breed into a species. And yet, now we have people with OCD about germs. And really all anyone with germophobia knows about germs is that germs are bad and unhealthy.

I think what's going on here is the brain has adapted to learn generic phobias from peers and elders. That gives you the protective effects of germophobia at an extremely adaptive and abstract level.

So, I think N-count is a similar thing. All you need is to be told that sex is bad, bad people have sex and then there you go. It's gross and disgusting.

Between 20-21 I went through the anger phase after an AWALT woman, but I was angry at her, and at myself for not being good enough, not 50% of humanity.

I see women the same as before. A mistake people make online is treating people as population averages. Women are less intelligent than men as a group, more emotional, more neurotic, etc. These are facts which make blues uncomfortable to the point of scientific denial.

Its honestly hard to describe how I felt about them because all of my problems were interconnected; my self hatred, insecurity, and terrible body imagery all warped my perception to what women actually were that I dont think I can ever truly relate to that ever again. It was almost just like a nebulous, hormone-induced rage.

Now I see women as much more in line with men, but our differences are still pretty out there. One criticism I will retain is that women dont really give a shit about things that negatively affect men, but then again, most men dont care enough either.

There's a difference between how I see women that are physically around me and how I perceive women in my head. I've accepted women for who and what they are, and about 70% of the time, I see women around me the same way that I see men around me. But, the other 30% of the time, the way those exact same women behave, or what they say, and I'll automatically be reminded of who and what women are. It might be something small, like, for example, a woman at work came up to me today and asked "hey, you angry at me, do you not like me or something?",and I sat there thinking "is this really the kind of talk that is appropriate at the workplace? ", but I said "no". Then, she was like "oh I thought you were because of [something that happened 2 months ago]". And what I wanted to say was "you are fucked up if you think I even remember, but I am upset at your level of incompetence and carelessness, and the messes that you've created that I now have to clean up", but then that "perception of women" in my head reminded me of who and what women are.

It reminded me the following:

If I Said what I wanted to say, and what I would have said to any guy in the same context, she would not have understood my frustrations with her.
She would have taken it personally
She would have complained about bullying or harassment or some other bullshit, which would have wasted even more of my time
What really frustrated me, her incompetence and carelessness for her job, would have been lost as at the forefront of the situation would be how she feels, and how what I said made her feel.

So I said "look I don't remember what I ate for lunch yesturday, if you want to be more specific about what you are talking about, go ahead,but I dunno what you are talking about", she left, and that was that. Treat them like children, it's the only way.

Another example, over the weekend I was spending time with my girlfriend. Now, The last year or so, I've been under the worst pressure, the last 2 months have been the hardest time of my life, by far. I haven't kept this private, I've discussed it and it was visible to everyone around me. Anyway, sunday we are hanging out, and she we went to go to get ice cream. The place took only cash and I realized that I only brought cards with me, she didn't bring cash with her either. We go back to the car, she finds some cash, and wants to go to buy. I told her I no longer wanted ice cream but i'd go with her to get it for her, she loses her freaking mind.I guess it was a trigger, she starts going off about how I'm not spending time with her, about how all I do is work and how I'm not doing my part around the house (I'm home 4 hours a day for sleep, and am working 18 hours a day, 7 days a week). She says that I"m selfish, that I'm an asshole, that I"m a piece of shit blah blah blah. This isn't normal mind you, we don't usually call each other names. Anyway, as she's screaming and bitching, I'm thinking to myself "does she not understand what I have been going through in the last few months? does she simply not care?". Then it hit me, the answer was that, the answer was that she didn't understand, because she didn't care to understand what I was going through. What mattered to her wasn't that I was on the brink of losing my mind or the fact that I was having panic attacks or haven't been able to sleep or haven't been able to eat much. That feeling like my back was breaking under the pressure that I am under didn't matter. These things don't exist to her. She doesn't care. She is incapable of feeling any level of empathy or sympathy, my feelings don't matter.

Then I remember TRP, remember the anger phase, and remember that this, is all that women are. I've chosen to believe that this is all that women can ever be so that I can convince myself that it isn't their fault, that it's not on purpose. That this is their nature. that they are only women.

I was angered but just disappointed that the way I felt about a women as a romantic partner would most likely never be reciprocated in the same way.

I used to think the world of them but now I know they are just as bad as everyone else.

The halo effect is definitely real, but now I see it as something to account for too.

Guys with low N counts have low N counts because they either "aren't like that" so they aren't into women who are or because they "don't got it like that" so are threatened by women who obviously "get it like that".

For example there are two types of women when it comes to blowing a random dude in the bathroom at a nightclub when they don't even know the guys name. Women who do that kind of shit and women who don't.

If you end up developing some sort of an attachment to a woman and you find out she's like that a few feelings might happen.

You'd never be the guy who that would happen to so it's a constant reminder you're not X enough to have that happen to you so if she is into you then she prices you in a different way than those guys. So like she'd blow this guy in a bathroom without knowing his name but not you because you have to 'win' her and 'pay a higher price' for any sort of affection/intimacy/sex another constant reminder you 'don't got it like that'.
You do have it like that but would never be into that so it's no surprise that you're repulsed by women like that.
You got it like that and you've gotten your fair share of bathroom bjs in the club but if you're in this boat (rarest type) you've probably got options so why emotionally/financially invest in this type of women/make her your wife etc when you can get one that hasn't blown guys like yourself in bathrooms? You've got probably options after all which is why they'd probably lie about their N count instead of being proud like they say they are.

I'm RP but I've never went through an anger phase. At least not as severe as some of the guys online. After discovering RP and reading TRM, I wasn't angry, it was more like a light bulb going off. Women were a mystery. I couldn't live with them and I couldn't live without them. They haunted my thoughts, or rather, the lack of them. I don't think I put them on a pedestal, I probably did, but who knows.

Now I just see women as more trouble than they're worth. Yeah, sex and a good relationship are nice, but outside of that? Who cares. I view women much more charitably now. The idea of "the most responsible teenager in the house" was one of the most shockingly misogynistic things I read on TRP at first, but in the long run it has helped me the most. I used to hold my wife to too high of a standard and would get very frustrated when she would talk about inane things, act irrationally, and be totally immune to logical, rational discussion. My feelings before RP were more like 80% Depression 20% anger. There was no real light at the end of the tunnel as to how I would fix my attractiveness. Women and technology had all of my focus.

After being exposed to RP, I was able to identify my issues and start making progress to fix them. There is still some salt that I have to wash away for even having to go through this, but I realize the sooner the salt is all gone, the better for my attractiveness. Now instead of just women and technology, I added more friendships, socialization, and taking care of myself to my list of things that I focus on.

As far as the ick factor I think it stems from insecurity. Aside from any religious or deeply cultural beliefs, I think the main turnoff is that girls with a high N count have an easier time dumping you. One thing I've noticed is they have a large number of past partners they can go back to lean on, semi-comfortably(even very comfortably in some cases) if they need sex, and they have likely experienced someone better than you in some regard, so it's not that hard to let you go. For a guy with a high N count he likely has the same options as that girl, so he may feel less intimidated by her.

Like being cheated. But you accept it with time.

How do you see women now vs before?

I think of people as individuals, not as a group, though I am way more warry of women than man nowadays, It show men how men are not as bad as once I thought.

Is the 'halo effect' real?

Of course it is, anyone saying otherwise lost the grasp of reality.

I guess I'm just wondering about this because whenever n-counts are discussed, it sounds like guys are either adamant that women either don't sleep around much at all or that they do sleep around a lot.

Correction:

Women (who can) sleep around a lot, do it at their younger years but say that they do not do it.

Women however will be unable to do it after a certain age, as her value decreases (what we call the wall)

There is no "ick factor". Disgust is different from dislike. It is similar to not liking overly noisy people, I feel no disgust to them, I just do not like them. An animal aversion of sorts.

However there does seem to have to be a good number of men who are disgusted by the idea. however it is heavily correlated with religious people, so take that as you will.

I view women on the whole as being very hypocritical and being very cognitive dissonant, which is true for all humans, but especially of women. Never treat any interaction with any woman with any degree of sincerity, whereas at least some guys are worth being sincere with, but women are by default ready to use your sincerity to get the leg up.
