I have seen FDS referred to as manipulative many times, like in this rceebt comment.

I just wonder how this is possible. As far as i understand, FDS vets for men who actually want and choose the same things that the woman wants. FDS talks about asking a man his views on marriage and what he's looking for.

FDS even talks about asking men about their p*rn watching habits in search of an honest answer to build a relationship on. This is actually not manipulation. This is pretection against malipulation. The only reason to try and prevent a man from lying is to protect against manipulation from the other side. FDS doesnt even recommend lying about supporting porn, they just recommend not literally telling men what the right answer is before asking questions. This is the same tactic used in asking a man what he's looking for before you tell him what you're looking for. This is creating an open and non judgmental space for a man to share his thoughts. It's a good thing.

FDS recommends having men pay on dates... when the men ask. FDS recommends giving an exclusive relationship... when the men ask in a reasonable time frame. This is literally designed to give the compatible men what they want. The idea is not to manipulate some unsuspecting man.

I have heard the argument that triggering a man's mate guarding instinct is manipulative. I agree that trying this is certainly an active attempting at gaining a man's deeper affections. This doesn't, however, acrually mislead a man at all.

How are FDS tactics manipulative, to those of you who think they are?
