As you can see, none of what is discussed in this sub is a real debate. There is no outcome.

On the one hand, it is because TRP makes itself immune to criticism. It achieves that either by moving goalposts or by indicating that "TRP is our club, we can do whatever we want".

On the other hand it is because blue pill mainly resorts to emotional argumentation. Not only is this an incorrect way of having a debate, but also the moral side is clearly something TRP doesn't really care about (therefore both sides speak past each other).

The only way of having a real debate on this sub is to present scientific evidence and counter-evidence. And here is the problem:

  1. Neither side is capable of having a scientific debate. Blue pill wants to use emotional argumentation and red pill wants to close itself off as a heuristic.

  2. Since TRP understands itself as a heuristic, the only way to attack TRP scientifically is to point out that there are more efficient methods available. How would it be possible to convince someone with scientific data that the happiness acquired with red pill methods exceeds the happiness acquired with blue pill methods? Exactly. Instead we see the unscientific way: personal account vs. personal account.

  3. The mechanisms psychology tries to understand are extremely complex which makes psychological studies notoriously unreliable and contradictory. It is easy for anyone who wants to prove a point to find a study that confirms exactly his point.

Here you have it. That's why this sub has failed and will continue to fail. The foundations for a real debate are not given.
