I read an ROK article about this a while back. Basically if a woman mentions she was "abused" or flat out uses the word "rape" from a past relationship(s), then run! Two reasons:

If she was raped, then she probably has a lot of mental baggage. You are not qualified and probably not willing to deal with those type of mental issues.
If she's lying well then you could be her next victim.

Seriously weird that you had 4 women mention that. I don't think I've ever had a girl mention "rape" on a date with me.

I attend a very large university. Recently they've been having some high profile events with high profile people, sending out emails, holding "free training" seminars and webinars, all in service to "awareness, preventing, and responding to" not simply sexual violence (rape) but more often than not, sexual misconduct (anyone's guess as to how far and wide that definition is).

I find the whole thing grossly offensive, for several reasons. They use academic language to thinly disguise the obvious and only culprit (men) and the obvious and only victims (women). Nothing new about that. However the tone of late has become such that these events and trainings are supposed to be seen as institutionally mandatory, or worse, socially required - although they have thus far stopped short of explicitly demanding attendance. I'm imagining the participation roster alongside my academic record though. ("I see you never attended the sexual misconduct training - sorry, no grad school for you!") Of course, I could make it further personal because I need no such exhortations or training even if I bought into their absurdities. But that's not productive.

More offensive than any of that are all the things left unsaid and unexamined. It is so clearly a political maneuver: without true supporting data, without logical consistency, without any basis in the daily experiences of modern men or women.

You want to stop """misconduct"""? Define proper conduct. What's that, you discarded religion? Well surely you have a secular code of ethics to follow. Oh everything is permitted? Well, except for this. And that. And that other. The fact is the Conduct argument is absurd because humans evolved to flirt with each other. The social stigma against men who dare pursue women they are not """Worthy""" of is already so high that we must leave town just to practice talking to people. Surely that degree of social control is more than enough for a baseline of ethical conduct towards others - and Oh So Sorry to the women who have the Wrong Man interrupt their mojitos and gossip to ask for her time. Let us leave this debate for now then.

Let us assume for the moment that the Instigators follow us out of the conduct debate and agree that, yes, the true evil here is sexual violence. There is of course a debate to be had about what constitutes sexual violence, but let us even suppose that, however we define it, whatever one's intuitive sense of sexual violence consists of, it is Bad. For the self, and for the community. No one should live in fear of assault and rape. (Sorry SJWs, being slightly offended online does not yet count as violence in academic circles.) However, one must ask, how are we combating violence here?

Yes, let's hold a very public seminar on what sexual violence means to a bunch of 18-23 year old men who are already from reasonably privileged and educated households. Let's also tell women in the same demographic how evil all men are, and how only her acquaintances will rape her, and essentially traumatize a generation of women before an opportunity for them to be raped has even arrived. I'm sure that's all productive.

How about a seminar on personal responsibility? How about less wink-and-nod tacit endorsement of party culture by the university? How about facilitation of sober romantic coupling? How about destigmatizing friendly relations between men and women - by which I mean, battling the predominant pop-culture ethos wherein women can only be "bitches" and men can only be "friendzoned." How about attempting to bring positivity to inter-gender relations instead of further dividing us. How about a fucking dialogue.

But of course, they're not interested in actual progress or human happiness. I have some ideas of what they may actually be interested in that eschews the argument of ignorance, but now is not the time. This is just the beginning I'm afraid. Stay smart out there.

I have zero tolerance for this sort of behaviour. If the word "rape" or anything else comes up positioning herself as a victim I'm out. Thankfully I've only had to deal with it once.

The date asked me "why do you keep staring at me, it feels like you're trying to eye rape me".

Got into my jeep and pulled away. This wasn't the end of this girl. Of course she needed to make sure I understood that I was an asshole. To which I never responded. About 2 days later she sends me a text offering to give me another chance. I just laughed to myself. The hamster is hilarious sometimes.

Generally speaking, I believe the rape culture to be just this- a false rape accusation culture. I don't believe rape to be nearly as common as they make it seem, and I absolutely don't believe the cringey ways it's portrayed in gaga's video.

Which is probably bad news for real victims.

What we need is legislation that recognizes how harmful false rape accusations are and punishes the girls accordingly. Look, what happens if the guy gets convicted? Years of prison and life as a registered sex offender afterwards. Story and insight from my pre-TRP past:

(2007. Well known UK university campus.)

Me and my gf at the time were about to hit up the student union for the night - waiting for her girl-friend to get ready, sat in their apt. This was when another roommate, Chloe, entered the scene. I already knew, from my gf and her friend, ALL about Chloe. Classic attention whore type, but reasonably bangable to be fair. This bitch flung out rape accusations once a week, no exaggeration. Even the girls would roll their eyes whenever this happened. I (Mr Nice Guy) tried not to judge or jump to conclusions upon meeting her, but things hadn't even kicked off and Chloe was smashed; stumbling round, raising her voice, openly hitting on me in front of my gf - I still have no idea why she was allowed to live with them.

Anyway, as the night wound down, I was breifly alone (for logistical reasons) with Chloe, I choose to hold her up, because she was physically falling over when I didn't support her. Plummeting into bushes and saying stupid shit like "Come in here with me." "You pushed me!" I imagined she was trying to flirt? Doesn't matter, what might of been alluring in any other setting / with any other girl was (even then) a giant red flag from this garbled hot-mess. I remained the perfect gentleman and assisted this tramp until her pickup arrived. Saw her off, all smiles, all pleasant.

Fast forward a couple of days: guess what Chloe is telling my gf and her friend? Thats right, she's claiming I molested her when we were alone. I got lucky simply because this whore cried wolf so often; the girls laughed her down apparently. Women will usually know if a girl is full of shit when it comes to rape, especially if they see a regular / recurring pattern.

As a general rule however: don't associate or put yourself in a 1-on-1 position with women like this, things could've turned out so much worse for me. People such as her make me sick, just imagine how a genuine rape victim feels!

The thing about rape is that you will never know if a woman has been until it comes time in your relationship to start taking things further. My high school sweetheart never wanted to take things further and wouldn't tell me why. She even begged me not to leave her because of it. I think you made a great observation regarding dating vs accusations of rape. It's as if society is attempting to change the landscape for dating so that you're forced to commit.

Theory time: I believe that women have a primal instinct to kill or destroy any woman that comes close to the man that they claim as theirs; therefore, there are deep-rooted feelings of violence towards a man that does not want to commit after he gets what he wants (see genital mutilation cases and there are probably tons of cases where domestic abuse against males is not reported).

For what it's worth, I understand where you're coming from. It's absolutely despicable when women take advantage of the situation where women are more vulnerable if they actually weren't ever in that situation. I will argue that it is entirely different when the person doing the assaulting is someone who you have trusted for years, and who you still dearly love as a person regardless of an alcohol-fueled decision.

It doesn't mean these women are bad people, or people unworthy of help or time, but all the same, I'm much less trusting of men in general, even before discovering this community of men who seem to pigeonhole women as manipulative divorce-raping gold-diggers. Some women are like this, I grant you, but I am not. I have been sexually assaulted and I choose to believe some of you are still good men, regardless of what you think of me as a person who has had to wrestle between keeping a friend or kicking a person out of my life who has shown me nothing but kindness for more than a decade.

I hope that in the future, some of you can give women the same understanding that I still give men in my life. One indiscretion from one person does not immediately condemn the rest of the people in the gender. Not all of us are unworthy of your trust, but patience needs to be shown to find those of us who are worthy, and who have been abused.

I hope you have as much faith in my gender as I have in yours.
