Hi...woman here...just my 2c-

She absolutely 100% did not reject you! She chatted openly with you, gave you personal details about her life over several days. She could easily have avoided conversing with you. She obviously found you enjoyable enough to share quite a lot of info. You did great, and it sounds like she enjoyed talking to you.

She has a boyfriend. That's not rejection. Don't cut her off cold. She is still a nice woman, and presumably you enjoy her. Stay friendly and chat when you feel like it. Now she knows you are single and looking. Who knows, maybe her relationship won't last, maybe she has a friend who would like you...maybe a dozen other scenarios... but keep being a good guy and being personable because you never know what the future holds.

You built your confidence and you were a good guy...both great things.

Edit: again...that's 100% not rejection!

Keep talking to her and being her friend, bro. Just make sure, since she now knows you like her, to not let her dick you around. Don't show that it hurt or that you still think of her as a potential dating material. Just be her friend and nothing more. Who knows, down the line she could hook you up with her 9.5 friend or maybe she becomes single and wants to give you a shot. Got nothing to lose so long as you don't let her control you now.

exact same thing happened to me.

I kept being very friendly with her.

Eventually she broke up with her bf

and then she became my gf.

we broke up eventually, and i was crushed for a long time. I manned up and grew as a person.

now she's one of my closest lifelong best friends.

i would have missed out on all of that if i had just stopped talking to her.

Now you just need to act like it didn't affect you in the slightest. Still say hey or bye to her when you come into the gym/leave. Get friendly with another woman at the gym and start talking to that one more. If you do that, I can almost guarantee you'll get at least SOME sort of reaction from the receptionist girl you asked out. If you can do that, you'll be displaying MAD confidence.

If you really like her I would not give up yet. The bf line could be a rejection and it might not. Either way, she probably has a lot of offers to choose from. Do not focus on her or get invested, but stay in contact. Back off a little and see if she approaches you at the gym. I guarantee she has gained respect from you because 1. You had the balls to ask her out and 2. It sounds like you took the rejection like a champ.

You've made it seem like you are interested in her but at the same time dont need her. This is how you want to be seen. Focus on other women, talk to more women at the gym, keep your head up and be a fun person. I would not be surprised if you get another opportunity down the road with this girl.

Honestly in wouldn't look at it as a rejection. If she has a boyfriend.. it's a normal, healthy, albeit frustrating way to have her decline.

The fact that she didn't mention it is actually a good thing in some ways as well.

As long as you don't become obsessive and weird around her, she respects you now. The "I have a boyfriend" line is usually a knee jerk. She will be watching you closely now for alpha male behaviour. Let her see you with another pretty girl, and you're in. She'll give you a second chance. Unless she actually has a bf, which she probably does.

Your best bet is to not care. Go meet more women.

I learned from girls to lie and say "I have a girlfriend" while I'm working. I'm a bartender and it happens alot, so telling someone you're taken makes it super easy.

I'd be willing to bet she's single. I'd keep talking to her on a very chill level (still less tho) but not ask her out again or anything. For all you know, she said no cuz she's so used to doing it but also wanting to focus on her priorities. Doesn't mean you wouldn't become one...

Then she'll ask for who and you can just throw it off, but give off vibes that its another girl. Then you have a date sorted even thought it isn't. With this method you can take her to the mall, shop around, go to lingerie shops, jewellery shops, perfume etc etc

Think of all the exciting and flirty things you can do. Then go get ice cream or coffee and chill.

Two things will happen. A) After showcasing what a fun dude you are she will develop feelings for you (whether she has a boyf or not) or B) You will be that fun friend (possible future boyf) who she will introduce you to other hot chicks or be your wing woman.

Sometimes for girls it's hard to bring up a bf without it being awkward or sounding like a bitch. Personally, for me it's easier to let it come about naturally. I've done the whole direct thing off the bat and some guys are like "whoah, I'm not asking you out." When all I was trying to do was be honest so he doesn't waste his time. Then I get labeled the bitch for trying to be considerate :)

I'm Aspergian and learning challenged.. working the pizza oven may be the best I can do. And I'm in my 30s. I mean, WTF? If you want a woman who is "smart and educated," maybe start by not calling them "girls."

Also, you didn't get "rejected." What is your definition of success, her immediately dumping and/or being unfaithful to her boyfriend? That is completely unreasonable. Could you go back and ask her if she would be your wing woman?

Tell her that you honestly haven’t had more than a gf and that you are a bit 'rusty', but that you generally is a good guy worthy of love and that having a female friend on your side might help on the social proof part :) She will understand.

Having a 10 on your side is nice and it can open all sorts of doors. Tell her that she is free to bring her bf along so she can see that you are not after her, but a gf that wants you. Maybe you even could get her bf to give you some pro tips; After all he was the one who got the 10 :)

The possibilities are endless and you have a great chance to get something great here.
