This is awful.....i hope this was the wake up call for her and she dumps his gross ass. You're getting MARRIED, it's a cause for celebration, not a cause to go 50/50 on a shitty SECOND HAND ring. That's so sad. I'm so hurt constantly seeing women's dating lives get so bad it makes their whole life hit absolute rock bottom before they realize the way they've handled dating and not having any boundaries has brought them nothing but heartache. An old coworker of mine is really going through it right now, she's dating this emotionally abusive guy who won't be her bf after 2 years, which makes me convinced he's sleeping around, and I'm afraid of what her rock bottom will be at this point. Will it be an STD? my friend that works with her has tried to help but she just won't help herself, she won't even acknowledge her problems. I wish there was a way to reach women like the OP and my old coworker, it seems really hopeless sometimes :/

I know 3 people (simply acquaintances) that got married during 2020 and even left on holiday (travel around the world). That was during the full bloom pandemic. They married in small ceremonies with only their close family and a best man and a bridesmaid. They got food catering & ordered flowers, they did it all in their backyard. Ordered the dress and tuxedo online. Bought the rings.

It's not that difficult if you actually want to marry someone! Not even a pandemic can stop it.

I can't believe this guy really said he won't forbid it.... Is he her dad? He's not the one wearing it so who cares what he thinks? I love how she feels doesn't seem to matter 🙃 It's funny, when I was a child I literally thought men would buy (with only their money) their fiancee a ring they would love regardless of if they liked it themselves.
