Lesbians, what's your take on FDS?

I was curious to hear the answer but it looks like it just got dominated by the same issue lesbians keep finding themselves at the sharp end of. The issue that Reddit normally takes a very extremist stance on.

There's been a noticeable uptick in frustrations from gay women wrt dating other women lately, and if memory serves

I live in a liberal city with a big gay scene. I know a lot of lesbians and their biggest complaint is that there are too many biological males in dresses at the lesbian bars wanting someone to suck/fuck their “girldick”.

Beyond that issue, I think my close lesbian friends would vary on their take on FDS/RP. I think my masc lesb friends would probably gravitate towards RP and my fem lesb friends towards FDS.

I am not a lesbian, so I cannot speak for them. But I have had many close friendships with female friends who happened to be lesbian, so I think I can give a very broad guess.

My guess is that for the vast majority of lesbians. They wouldn't care, as neither FDS or RP concerns them personally. They will more than likely lean towards approval of one and disapproval of the other, but with no strong feelings either way. FDS stated goal is to provide STRIAGHT women with strategies to attract STRAIGHT men whom those women deem 'high value'. RP stated goal is to improve the lives of men in the modern world. Lesbians can really only be involved with these tangentially.

I think a big portion of the opinion will fall on where they politically lean, and also possibly how much they empathize with their male friends, but the only factor I could see resulting in them having stronger opinions would be either:

A. Having strong opinions on feminism/gender issues/sex issues/etc. Thus could go either way but I think you'll see a greater trend to pro FDS here.

B. Having a family member that is personally affected. I personally can't imagine where a female family member being helped by FDS leading to a lesbian feeling passionate about FDS. But I can see it with a close male relative, say a lesbian mother has a son and she then reads up on how to best raise a boy. She may come across many of the issues highlighted by RP, most likely education issues, and this may lead her to grouping with other boy-moms who want to help improve education for their male children. Note that this scenario is more contingent on a mother simply wanting good outcomes for her child.

If you were to ask a lesbian friend of yours, assuming she had knowledge of these things, about FDS, would probably give you a response averaging something like this:

"I'm not attracted to men, but I can emphasize with straight women wanting to weed out certain men in favor of other men. But I can also understand how men might feel antagonized by this group, and that the women involved may not love them for who they are."

About RP, again, assuming she has some knowledge, would probably say something like:

"I do feel that these type of groups have problems with misogyny and harbor some bad people. And the recent issues of incel violence worry me. However, I can see that there are issues in the world that affect men particularly, and that it is good for themselves, as well as for the wider society, for them to discuss and try to solve said issues."

To make these even shorter:

"These things dont concern me personally / threaten me / benefit me. If it makes people worse off then it is bad. If it makes them better off then it is good."

And based on personal experience, she'll probably then begun talking about her new D&D elf archer OC.

Hopefully this makes sense.

hi, lesbian here. i think FDS people are wrong and stupid in the same way TRP are - making blanket statements about ~50% of the population is stupid and unhelpful and otherises other people. even if some aspects are true, the mentality it puts you in is super unhelpful and makes you lose empathy

it’s scary and sad how quickly this thread became a transphobic garbage dump. folks, you have every right not to date whoever you want to, but to call other people’s gender identities fake is f**ked up. y’all have some serious introspection to do - why do you feel the need to bully the most marginalized people in our society?

in response to the actual OP, i’m a queer woman who hasn’t dated cis men in several years (for personal trauma reasons) and i follow FDS for the entertainment. i find their goals and conclusions wildly problematic but i agree with how appallingly terrible cis men can be (not because they’re inherently bad people, but because patriarchy shapes them to be entitled, disrespectful, and selfish) and i get a kick out of the examples they share.

i’m also a sex worker and the funniest thing to me about FDS is how similar its gripes are to the sex worker subs i’m part of — for a sub that’s explicitly anti-sex work, they sure have a lot of the same complaints!
