I don't know about FDS, but TRP seems to appeal to autists rather than sociopaths.

Sociopaths are naturally good at mimicry, fitting in, tacit communication (body language and not necessarily taking all words literally), manipulating people, etc. They don't need TRP.

TRP is only necessary for men who are naturally bad at this kind of stuff. The weirdo, 'spergy kind of man whom is by-nature-incompetent of climbing normal social hierarchies. The kind of man who trusts what women say (and interprets it literally) over what they actually do.

Does TRP attract men whom are embittered and feel betrayed and angry? Absolutely. But that's not the same as sociopathy. Rather, from a neurotype perspective, TRP attracts autists rather than sociopaths.

And this is probably one reason why TRP causes visceral revulsion among women. It teaches men-whose-authentic-self-would-repulse-most-women to mimic Tribal Chief Characteristics (i.e. the things most women select for). Sure, there are other reasons for the anger at TRP (the exceptionally cynical rhetoric about women being one of them) but we can't pretend the mimicry-factor doesn't exist.

Dunno if there’s that many actual sociopaths; but the communities do a real good job of dehumanising the “other”, and that is potentially a Very Bad Thing.

Both FDS and TRP attract specific types of people but there’s definitely a difference. There is probably some overlap in personality disorders though between the two groups.

First, both groups attract narcissists, while not everyone in either group is a narcissist, a disproportionate number relative to the average population are likely. This is because both ideas are inherently about raising your standards and being more selective which appeals to people with inflated self value.

Other than that, FDS also seems to attract people who aren’t narcissistic at all and have had bad experiences with dating. Many may suffer from anxiety disorders or even ptsd from abuse or other trauma. These are the people who can benefit the most from FDS, since getting advice from a 3rd party can help with vetting if you have trust issues or don’t trust your own judgement.

TRP, on the other hand, tends to attract men who struggle with social connection in general. I think there are high rates of neuro-divergence among them, I think one reason for this is that TRP proposes more objective steps one can take to have success almost like a checklist, which makes more sense to some people than the idea that people can detect minute changes in each others facial expressions and see whether they’re interested.

I think they're just bitter angry people.

I think FDS their source of bitterness is failed relationships, divorce, cheating, broken engagements, a husband's porn addiction. That's what fuels them. They project this onto all men. And basically hate them.

TRP is a feeling of missing out. I feel like TRP misses not being able to reminisce about all the hot girls they banged. It's this feeling of missing out. It's behind them and unreachable, they can't even reminisce. I think it's why they resent young women who have casual sex when they're younger. They're just doing exactly what they wish they could. And let's be real they'd also want to settle down later on and have a family after their wild years, what they accuse and bash women for. It's projection. It's why Chad is their mythological icon. It's not wanting to miss out on this ultimately shallow pursuit.

I think they're very self-interested people who can't see past their own issues. I think they're very privileged just based on this being such a huge focus of their lives. I don't think they're sociopathic just narcissistic.

TRP is a realist approach to modern dating. You understand that AWALT (ie treat all guns as if they’re loaded) and you learn the game and how to get the most benefit out of it.

That’s all there is to it really. Call it Dark Triad or ASPD-like all you want if that’s what it takes to succeed then that says more about modern dating then it says about TRP.

I’ve seen takes from some men on here which have made me question whether they possess basic empathy. A lot of not getting why it’s unethical to manipulate, lie to and use people and justifications of any harmful behavior as long as it gets them what they want. And they admit that they would hate for someone to manipulate or use them but can’t wrap their heads around why it’s wrong to treat someone else that way. There’s also the sociopathic trait of “deceit for the goal of exploiting others” which is part of what the whole TRP teaches. And one more sociopathic trait I’ve seen come up here is dudes who say it’s women’s job to be careful and not be manipulated. Blaming others for being gullible to excuse your own manipulative behavior is also part of the criteria for sociopathy.

FDS is toxic, sexist and full of bitter people who probably will make shitty partners. But I don’t see sociopathic tendencies on there. They seem to revolve mainly around preaching the gospel that men suck and avoiding men that don’t meet their standards. Not to say that no women on there possess sociopathic traits. But most of their advice veers more towards how to get the treatment and the men they want not being a “pick me” rather than preaching manipulation or lying.

Apparently a few years ago some women on FDS tried to start a subgroup for strategies on psychologically and emotionally manipulating men for their self benefit called “Dark Triad Women” but from what I can find it never took off with much popularity within their community. In the post I saw about it the top replies are saying that the verification process is not worth joining, that reading the description about manipulating men to benefit yourself made them feel sick, and that they just want to be treated as a human being and don’t want to play games with or manipulate men.

For what it's worth, I've been described as a sociopath on this subreddit before but given how calculating I am I believe I would constitute more of a psychopath when it comes to dating and pill theory.

I derive quite a lot of enjoyment knowing that IRL women have no way of knowing I'm red pill. Like I'm Light Yagami hiding the fact he is Kira from L in death note. Using RP knowledge and values covertly to further my own interests all while the other party doesn't suspect a thing. I'm even smiling as I write this.

TRP pretty much checks all the boxes for narcissistic behavior and thinking patterns. The manipulation, sadism, imagining oneself to be superior to one’s target, grandiose delusions, etc. The men making money off of RP content are definitely narcissists, but not all of the men watching and reading that content are, I don’t believe. It seems to attract both narcs and frustrated autistic men who start to pick up on narcissistic ways of thinking.

FDS, I don’t really see the same thing. Many of these women dislike men, yes, but they seem to be pretty set on just avoiding more bad experiences with them vs trying to punish and manipulate them. When women hate men, they avoid them. When men hate women, they try to hurt them, whether physically or emotionally. This is the harsh truth about why you can’t equate misogyny and misandry.

I can't give you a true percentage but when you look at the biggest extremes of both there's definitely something there, the biggest difference to me is that with the red pill it's more of a response to modern feminism, they do not advocate for commitment where as with feminist deception strategy the goal is to commit to somebody the gender that they clearly hate, so maybe the red pill is a little more sociopathic, FDS is more a haven for the delusional and deranged

Here's a partial list of sociopathic traits. I left some off like inability to hold a job because there's no way to determine that from observing an online persona.

Lack of empathy - yes. Both sides seem to have lack of empathy for the opposite gender but I think FDS is worse than TRP. I also have a dingaling so I may be biased.
Impulsive behavior- no. Neither strike me as impulsive. Calculating and scheming but not impulsive.
Using intelligence, charisma and charm to manipulate others - no. All the intelligence, charisma and charm on TRP and FDS combined could probably fill a shot glass. I take that back. There seem to be intelligent people here but there ain't much charm or charisma. I think a big part of both camps is trying to mimic the charm and charisma that come naturally to others.
Not learning from mistakes or punishment - no.. FDS seems to have learned from getting pumped and dumped, TRP seems to have learned from getting taken to the cleaners in family court.
Lying for personal gain - yes. Are you kidding me? Off the fucking charts. Hell yes!
Superficial relationships - yes. I think TRP actually pursues superficial relationships. The more superficial the better.

So, in summary, yes both TRP and FDS display some sociopathic tendencies but that's not the same as saying anyone is a full blown sociopath. And let's remember that sociopaths aren't all evil geniuses or criminal masterminds. In many instances they're just doofuses like everybody else except they score high on key personality traits.

I am not a sociopath but I do follow the r/sociopath subreddit. I enjoy being a fly on the wall over there.

I would assume most of both are just misled and drowning in their insecurities. TRP is right about some fundamental truths of men and women but it doesn't really equip anyone to find happiness

Well, it's a theory, not the actual emotional cosmos of the people who believe in it. How does someone make it fit with their adherence to TRP when they actually experience love themselves? Presumably they tell themselves that they can feel it, but women can't.

(Which, to be fair, might be true. Maybe the feeling "love" is very different for men and women. Or even between people. We only have our own perspective on it, after all.)

But it's also perfectly possible that people gravitate to theories like this when their own emotional cosmos isn't really pronounced.

I think TRP's psychology has some value, but it's clear that it has been completely vulgarized and mutilated by having evo-psy churned through the brains of internet teenagers. Mating strategies are a thing, but no psychologist or biologist or zoologist would say that they are conscious plans. They are not strategies. They are tendencies of our brains to make us attracted to someone under certain conditions. It's not so much that love isn't a thing and there's pure calculation going on, but rather, the way in which we feel attracted and in which we love is "controlled" (if you like) by these hidden tendencies.
