I was just recently blindsided by my wife with divorce papers, and going through all the details, I'm not quite sure how I'm going to make it on my own. I guess maybe I've seen that we've both been unhappy for a while but i guess i thought it would pass like it has in the past, and we could be happy again. After combing through the papers drafted up by her lawyer, it seems with child support, spousal support, and the mortgage (she is leaving me with the house at least), I'm supposed to be paying several hundred dollars more per month than I make working full time. This is even before I pay utilities, insurance, or groceries, so how am i supposed to survive? I'm grateful with all my heart that she's agreed to split custody over our two children but I fear that even if they are happy and content half time in a house with no furniture (she's taking everything except their beds), I don't know how I'll be able to afford to take them out and have fun or buy them things. I doubt they'll even be able to watch TV or have internet at my house since I won't even be able to afford the basic necessary utilities. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any resources where I might be able to find some kind of assistance? Would it be ethical to start a gofundme or something in order to get even some minor assistance? Please help!
