Straight single 38/f here. So, I’ve noticed my (very well earning) guy friends often want more kids than their wives do. Especially if they haven’t yet birthed a boy. This whole pro-Natalist / have as many kids as you can Elon musk thing is a growing trend it seems. As someone who has empathy for a woman with a husband who wants her to birth more kids than she wants, I suggest that they have the money to freeze a bunch of embryos and offer their wife to use a surrogate as a way to handle this equitably. They are aghast at this proposal. “But I want it to come from her body” they say. Obviously having a diff birth & genetic mother for your kid is weird, no doubt, but Kim K did it for 3/4 kids as did Rumer Willis. They just keep it DL bc optics aren’t great.

Anyway, as someone who is not really into the whole pregnancy thing, but would be open to having children with the right guy and doing it naturally is not off the table by any means, however based on these discussions I feel like even having this as a preference (Vs deal breaker) is very taboo / a non starter for most men. I have made enough money to afford it, but it seems most guys are against this in principle, enough that it even is a deal breaker and by stating a preference like that I will alienate all potential husband candidates

Any guys want to weigh in and share their thoughts on how they would feel about such a discussion. I’m healthy and have frozen eggs and have the means to wait to find the right guy/ use a surrogate later in life as not to rush dating process due to bio clock. That being said, I am worried if I really state that this is my preference from the get go, I might as well say goodbye to attracting normal guys and would have to reluctantly do the single mom by choice IVF thing a few wealthy women I know are doing. My best friend said she would NOT bring it up and just “see how it goes” “your mind might change” once you hit that stage (just find someone you like first) but feels like a big topic to not bring up, especially at my age.

Sincerely, Reluctantly thinking about my future family plans
