That said, I don’t know if I really want to. I think my fantasies are better to stay fantasies. I’ve never tried to make them reality.

I also know extremely few people who ever engaged in “sex parties.” And I come from a pretty libertine social circle in my younger years.

I've had a 3 some, it was pretty boring. I've been to a sex party, I was disgusted and embarrassed for everyone there. no. i’m not past 30 but I’m in a relationship that I intend to have last, and there’s definitely a few fantasies that I don’t foresee being fulfilled.

for example, my biggest fantasy is going to a club or a party with my partner, flirting the whole night and making out, dancing together and dipping off to have sex in the bathroom and then come back with nobody the wiser. do it again a few more times at home. it’ll probably remain a fantasy because he’s much more the “have sex in private away from others and in a bedroom, in a more appropriate time (so basically, not sneaking off)” type, whereas i’m much more open to doing it mostly wherever and whenever. i’m also more insatiable than he is, so anything more than twice in a day is for sure more my thing than his.

i have other fantasies that don’t really align with his desires, but overall he takes a lot of pride in pleasing me and i greatly enjoy the sex we do have. so I wouldn’t trade our sex life just for a few fantasies.

Popular narrative in today's world is that young women have a ton of casual sex, participate in the wildest sex parties and once they're done sleeping around, find a guy to settle down with.

Well...I'm 38, and have never done any of that lol. Like a few other women here, my N is 1. I've been with this one man for 15 years.

Often an idea that the man in this relationship will be the one with the lesser experience, which is unacceptable so many men tell other men not to start relationships with older women because she definitely indulged in sex with many random individuals.

Men in general still report more lifetime sexual partners than women in general, even to surveys so boring as the CDC and Pew, so it's more likely that the man will have more experience...again, in general. YMMV.

But no, it is not a guarantee that just because a woman is older that she had sex with "many" individuals, random or not. Of course, I've met men here who say many = any number more than 1, so...yeah. Definitions matter lol.

So then, is that actually the case? Women past 30 and especially in relationships, was that ever the case? Did you ever get live out your fantasy, whether that is to have a threesome or whatever your fetish/fantasy/ bucket list was? Or is your fantasy, wish just it? Something that was just imagination that you never got close to experience and happy to never will since you're in a relationship now?

I didn't have just one wild sexual fantasy, I have a handful. Being with my lover, we've lived out 3 of mine and 2 of his. We still have a few to go, and I'm currently planning for one of our mutual ones to do later this year.

I find it weird to assume that just because a woman is in a LTR that means her partner wouldn't be willing to fulfill her sexual fantasies. If that was the case, and she chose to be with a man who doesn't share her sexual adventurousness, then either she's happy to let it remain a fantasy OR she chose poorly.

The wildest fantasies I have are ones that practically just aren't worth it. Hence why they're fantasies, they're only fun in my head. Out of things that are worth it, I've either done it or am working on building up skills to do it (some kinks just can't be jumped right into). Probably more things will come up, and I'll see about doing them when they do. It seems relevant to mention I've only slept with one person.

I’m a pretty sexual person and like to keep things exciting and my husband is down for whatever. I had sex one time, with one other person, prior to my husband. So no, I never lived out any wild fantasies. And I’m not a threesome person, regardless of the gender ratio. I have not, haha. I’m polyamorous so it’s not even that these fantasies are necessarily impossible to arrange, but so far they haven’t been practical or agreeable. It doesn’t help that I’m incredibly picky, so logistically some things can’t really be reconciled.

It turns out that’s mostly okay. Having a satisfying sex life is much less about checking a list of boxes for me and more about having quality pleasurable encounters.

I never wanted to actually live my fantasy. It's definitely better letting it stay a fantasy. I know I wouldn't be able to fully relax with it.
