Do not sit idly by and do nothing. That woman needs to understand that by making false accusations regarding sexual assault she not only got an innocent man fired but is also devaluing victims of legitimate sexual assault.

Something that you CAN do, is get yourself in a social setting where she admits to your face that she called the hospital and made the false accusation. Then, go to a notary, and swear out an affadavit that she said this to you personally. Send copies of the affadavit to the hospital, the man who was fired, the district attorney's office, and the offending cousin. And watch the shit hit the fan. No blowback will come to you because all you are doing is telling the truth.

I understand that you want to steal clear of this as much as possible. What I would do is attempt to get a recording of the accuser admitting that she made everything up. Go to the HR department of the hospital as a concerned 3rd party, show them the evidence, let them know that charges are being filed against the accuser and that the fired employee now has evidence for a wrongful termination suit, and demand that he get his job back.

You can act as a neutral third party to document things and hopefully stay far enough away. I don't blame you one bit for being worried about these two.

there is no legitimate way to punish this person successfully.

there is no real way to regain any financial losses incurred.

the police will not help in any family-type disputes.

this person will continue to operate like this and damage many other lives.

my advice: escalate. dramatically. deal with it yourself.

Let's not be too hasty and blame it all on prejudices against men, your cousin's boyfriend could have either had a history of dubitous relations with female co workers or even had instances or other complaints from other females

I mean, I would like nothing more than to believe the hospital was trying to protect their precious image and was not willing to take any risks so they got rid of that guy in no time, but it pays to be cynical
