He agreed to the pick up time. If he can’t pick up then he should have let her know 24 hours in advance. I have physical custody, this drives me crazy bc my ex swears I have nothing better to do with my life but wait around for him to get our children. Who’s late for a pickup anyway? Sheesh. He needs to take her to court and get clowned by the judge, who will probably move the time, resulting in less visitation 🙄

Edit:Another commenter talked about “sabotage” and I totally agree. I had to stop telling my ex my plans bc he literally tries to sabotage everything, including medical appointments that I try to plan for myself.

Sooo... He normally picks up the kid at 4 which is agreed upon. So ex-wife schedules a work event AFTER 4pm and on the weekend the kid will presumably be gone, which is a very logical thing to do. Especially if you have a real job and are a busy person. That way she doesn't have to arrange for a babysitter etc.

Meanwhile this absolute buffoon lets her know right before he's supposed to be picking the kid up that he can't, then CRIES about not being able to have kid? You think she WANTS to bring her very young child to a work event?! He's literally causing problems for both of them and is trying to frame it as her fault. Wouldn't be surprised if he'll soon post: "IMMEDIATE HELP NEEDED! Getting fired from my job because I was late from picking up my son!!! What can I do legally, it was an emergency ~~because I'm a bad father~~!!"

Ohhhhh, the HELL my ex put me through with my son is soooo despicable. One time he went on vacation for 5 days and left my son with his GIRLFRIEND. We have “Right of first refusal” in our agreement which basically means if you go out of town, you have to ask the other parent to watch him FIRST. My son was FaceTiming me over the weekend and said, “dad’s been out of town since the day I went to his house”. I was SO LIVID. I calmly went over to his house to pick up my son, and calmly told his c*nt girlfriend about right of first refusal....she starts GOING OFF ON ME because I got a cat and I’m a terrible mother because of that (my son only has seasonal allergies) and I don’t deserve to have him more. I immediately called a family law attorney and gave them a 5k retainer fee...the judge sided with me and now I’m in charge of all school, extracurricular, and religious decisions 😉

My mom used to drive three hours to pick us up/drop us off for visit weekends (a six hour round trip) with 6 hyper children in the car, while working two jobs. The only time she didn't come was when the weather was too dangerous, or when she had car troubles, and when she did she would always make fixing her car/getting a new one her number one priority. What is this bullshit?

This is particularly upsetting because my lazy father lived an 1.5 drive away from me when i was 8 - 9 years old, every access weekend Me an my sister (11yo) were put on a rural train without any adult, I was so scared every time. apparently an hour and half drive was too much of a pain in the ass for my dad, and my mum also had to look after my 2 younger sisters and would always just make a point to us that dad should pick us up and if not we had to catch the train. I feel in retrospect she was putting us in a potential harmful situation to make a point out of how shit my dad was. Ugh they were both pretty fucked up.

Why is he asking Reddit about legal advice as if he was about to have a court battle when the event is gonna happen that day and it's so easy to solve?

I can't stand men who act so grandiose about being a father and are so outraged that their rights are supposedly being infringed when he clearly cares more about his pride (not perceiving that he is "losing" against the mother) and fucking around with the mother.

If his priority was his kid and preventing stress for the kid he'd say no problem, I can pick him up when I finish my shift, I'll go where you'll be with him. If the mother is going away for the whole weekend then they could just swap weekends. Instead the kid is probably sensing that there are problems again between mom and daddy. Kids are far better than people think at picking up their parents' emotions, and I bet the mother is annoyed right now.

If there weren't an actual child victimized by this entitled loser, it would be hilarious. He needs iMmEdIaTe HeLp like he's going to get an emergency injunction or file a kidnapping charge or something. The part that got me was when he said "If I had known she would be like this suddenly I'd have requested off or asked to come in earlier." So it wasn't that he was forced to work, it was that he chose to work late, knowing it was going to put him over 2 hours late to pick up his son. He thinks he's entitled to do this all the time.

Works part-time in retail- Scrotes will literally do the bare minimum to avoid paying a fair amount in child support.
