Vasectomy is literally one of two options that men have for birth control. Nothing overkill about it. I recommend vasectomy. It’s the only predictable way to control your seed.

I got snipped almost 7 years ago because my STBX had a terrible delivery with our last kid. Fast forward to now and she served me three months ago and I have had constant pain since the procedure than even reversal probably won’t solve. I did it for her to save her from having to get a hysterectomy, now I’m sterile.

Mine was a one in one thousand case, but I’ll let you do what you will with the info. If you want it, know the risks first

To be completely honest, I agree with some radical feminists that vasectomy should be the default, rather than the exception.

They say the best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago, the second best time is now. Same proverb applies to having your balls disconnected, imo.

If you don't want more kids then yes it's a good choice. I was just about to do it....... cost $500 approx. Had it scheduled and then met a woman that had a hysterectomy...... did have to but was definitely going to.

Not overkill at all. Unless you plan on having more kids get it done, mine was absolutely painless. The thought of getting it done is worse than the actual procedure.

No. I had it done a year ago.

Something like 95% of those who get snipped do not regret it AND it has something like an over 90% success rate on being reversed should you ever change your mind. You could even get a little insurance and do a sperm bank for a few years.

Now, whether you choose to tell future women regarding your status, that's upto you, I choose not to after having observed many many single women demanding children and their 'partners' to be on the same page. Current FWB openly offered early on that it was a non-negotiable that her man be completely supportive of having children and she almost 'dumped' me when I said I wasnt sure.... sucks for her because I think she has undiagnosed PCOS. Personally though, and I concede it may be somewhat cruel but I feel nothing wasting a 30+ something's time, as she had her chance to have a family... if anything I am doing other men a favor since she can't trap them like I got trapped.

I do have symptoms of the complication of a vasectomy - mild PVPS but I haven't seen a doctor about it and it's only a minor nuisance.

Friends and family who knew of it and even the doctor who performed it were significantly less than supportive. There's a weirdly strong cultural stigma around it - maybe because it's one of the few ways men can be empowered.

best defense possible. if you think you might want more you can always store some in the event you decide to have another child down the road.
