I feel like I am outing myself hard, but okay here it goes. Apparently, I will occasionally pass gas in my sleep. I get everyone farts, but I am fairly ladylike so when my ex told me I died inside. I hoped it was a random one off he just happened to hear, but after living together I have learned it is very common for me to do. Bless his heart he thought it was hilarious. Later on down the road, a different guy didn't find it as hilarious. Actively told me I was gross, and that I had ruined the image he had of me. So... hoping to find another gentleman who is willing to laugh at my farts. Fingers crossed.

I talk about ''nerdy'' things or true crime stuff. That usually gives men the ick but I did hit it off with one autistic guy when we talked about body farms. Telling them they're wrong about something also irks a lot of dudes, even if they are genuinely wrong about it.

The one I can remember was from my teenage years. He was interested in chasing me until I showed that I was interested as well and acted more proactive. I guess that killed the conquering mood in him. He later got together and married a nice, shy and more demure woman, so I guess this is how he expected me to act but that's just not me. Oh well, wouldn't have been happy together like that anyway and I don't change my personality because of such an experience and those kind of expectations from some men. I just figure that those are not the kind of men for me. My life partner had no problems with me flirting with him, dropping innuendos, etc. It intrigued him and we are happily together for many years now, so I guess it comes down to finding the right fit.

I used to always want to pay for my own on a first date bc I felt bad and the more I insisted, I could tell they didn’t like it and payed. They didn’t tell me, but I got the hint when their facial expressions changed.

My biggest ick is probably how l maintain dead silence when l am eating...You'll get a word or two max. I believe you shouldn't show people the food in your mouth and you could choke too...It takes 5-10 minutes to eat. Whatever can wait...But it bothers a lot of people. They want to go "yapa yapa yapa" like damn...

I was definitely very cringey when I was younger, like in my teens. Definitely gave some guys the ick. I remember I threw a huge tantrum over a video game once. The guy I was dating was a bit of a dick though so I don't feel sorry for him.

Now with my husband, I don't think there's anything..we understand each other really well and he accepts my quirks.

I had a man tell me once that he couldn’t go on a second date with me because he felt “emasculated” by the fact I knew more than him about some topic he brought up. Another time in HS I asked a short guy I knew out and he was like “eww, you’re way too tall”. I had a boyfriend complain to me that I was too horny, that it was like I was like a man because of that, and that it was a turn off, because apparently he wanted a bit of a “chase” when initiating sex with me. Like he wanted me to say no, I guess, but then he would seduce/convince me. Instead I would be excited if he initiated, that gave him the ick. This one gave me a lot of trouble in future relationships as it fucked with my head and I had to kind of unlearn that and realize other men weren’t like that.

This isn’t an issue for me because I’ve been married for a very long time. But I’m a long-term recovering alcoholic who has been to rehab more than once. I would imagine that some guys might view this as a red flag if I were to ever start dating again.
