The only reason you hear so many women say that men overrate their appearance is because they are projecting, as any balanced individual can clearly see women do this infinitely more than men.

You’ve seen the memes and tag groups “lord give me the confidence of a mediocre white man” or “men going out of their way to reject women who don’t know they exist” etc. They always catch you off guard, as anyone with half a brain knows that it is women not men who are notorious for overrating their appearance.

You NEVER see a mediocre looking man trying to be a model or post narcissistic selfies thinking they are a prize or for validation.

Average looking men would never act like they were superior to or reject women in their own league. In fact they frequently are very self aware of their capabilities and usually simp for women far less attractive than them, and that goes for men in general.
