I see this dumb argument circling the X sphere and it’s not the first time.

Let’s put biology aside, because the hardwiring is what it is and just because there is genetic gap and we have not evolved for modern times/tech doesn’t mean it gives one the ability to cheat recklessly.

Let’s also put aside morality because it’s become apparent to me that most folks morality stems from their sexual strategy.

This line of thinking is stupid, however I think it is worth noting where the idea comes from in the first place.

Cheating entails two factors: availability and cause. Let’s focus on the former to connect to the latter. Majority of men have access to few sexual options and this likely becomes fewer through the lens of a marriage because (one would think) women don’t want to be home wreckers.

So cause. Wouldn’t a better notion be that a man (and woman, for that matter) should never be in a position in a relationship where cheating is a viable alternative? Again, morality is aside, so saying “well no one should ever cheat” is not a viable response. If you are ensuring that your wife/husband/significant other is sexually satisfied, then wouldn’t this then be the number one way to curtail any potential cheating? Why is this never cited or pointed to in the context of such a problem? Or is the assumption that asking any questions regarding such a scenario is not allowed?
