I've noticed something similar recently. I've been going to a mall Cafe to study with my earphones on. When I'm done, I normally go for a walk in the mall to digest all the information I studied.

I noticed that if I walk and stay within my own frame, that I get more and longer glances from women. Staying within my frame basically means that I'm not on "search mode" with my eyes. I walk and just keep and abundance mindset. In other words, not searching for validation from people or looking to make comparisons.

Glancing at others/looking at hot chicks is fine so long as it doesn't affect your current flow of thoughts or state of mind. This way, your state of mind is not affected by mere strangers.

I also felt more comfortable in public this way. That I'm fundamentally enough as is.

Previously, I would be on "search mode" while on walks or even seated in public, secretly hoping to find a hot chick that would validate me. I would attract minimal glances this way much less prolonged eye contact. I also felt like this behaviour lowered my self esteem.

As someone who also codes for a living, I’m genuinely curious about coding from a bar. Are you usually off at a table or something?

Whenever I want to work outside of home, I go to a we work, but something about coding from a bar and sipping a beer sounds amazing. And the added bonus of potentially meeting women, I love it.

I mean yeah... you're at a bar, mate - quite different than say a coffee shop where social cues and norms are followed more closely.

It wouldn't matter what you were doing, or working on. This is a tactic to garner attention at a highly social spot whether you consciously realized that or not.

It is that very reason why I have many times taken a book to the bar by myself to read. I get to enjoy my book, and now have a potential headstart in the social aspect. My item of attention gives any curious party an easy open.

I'm an introvert and I used this strategy all the time successfully. You have to actually be 100% focused and in the flow state without letting anything distract you while "studying". Make them wait until you are "done" before you talk to them, unless of course they interrupt you.

I work construction and have a long commute while going to school. So sometimes it's more convenient to go study somewhere besides my house before class. I'll be dusty, smelly, and sweaty and I'll still get results. Also as a major plus, it helps with my procrastinating!

I’ve heard of this one actually. Not necessarily “bring your work to a bar” but bring a book. Think about it. Typically the people that are sitting at a bar don’t have much in their hands besides a beer, maybe an appetizer or something. Having an activity you’re actively doing draws people in.

If you’re sitting there with a book, people will ask you what it’s about. Where’d you get it? How is it? The chances of them talking to you are higher because they have something that you can talk about immediately as an ice breaker.

Although, I will say…

Try it man. If you’re looking for a lady to keep you company, set up shop and hit the bar. You’d be surprised (or…. I guess you wouldn’t) at how many will approach you and ask you all about what you’re doing.

The thing women are most attracted to is a man on a purpose. They literally love the feeling of a man who is doing something fun and interesting. That's why they see you locked in and want to know what you are doing.

The problem is that most men do the opposite. They go to bars and instead of focusing on their purposes, they focus on women, which is unattractive to women. Women want to join you on an adventure where you are pursuing something fun; they don't want to be the target of your adventure.

Thing about that single-minded focus and determination you have on your mission. That is the emotion women want from men. If you can reproduce that in other contexts, you will be much more successful with women.
