Here's what I do, although really it only works for me.

My name is Montel (even though I'm white) and I mention that I was named after Montel Williams the black TV host. And then I ask who she was named after and she will say "My Grandmother was called Katherine so I was named after her" and then I know. This also works with obscure middle names.

You could ask for her snapchat and it will probably have her name in the username.

It wasn't intentional, but a few years ago a mate was meeting a girl for a first date.

He asked if I'd go and a have a drink and game of pool with him before to calm his nerves a bit etc.

He was pretty sure of her name. But that was the female equivalent of his name, which left him a little unsure if he wasn't just a bit confused about it.

When she turned up, he greeted her, then offered to get her a drink. I waited with her while he was at the bar and asked her name, leaving when he got back. I think I may have actually said "nice to meet you {name}" so it was confirmed.

If you have her #, check snapchat. It will show a name associated with a phone number.

Another option: show up with a friend. Say you just bumped into them on the way and have your friend introduce him/herself. In responding, your date will introduce herself, unwittingly, to you.

I had a similar problem. I talked to so many girls and got so many number during my nights out. I would put their name and number in my phone. The next day, I would forget the names of the girls I met the night before. I would scroll through my contacts trying to remember the names of the girls, and I would get upset because I couldn't remember.

So, I solved this problem by creating an app. I would hand my phone to a girl, and she would put her number and name in my phone (in the app). My app not only saved the date & time of the contact entry, but it also video recorded part of the interaction. Sounds good.

I was thinking I was going to make people's lives so much better. Little did I know that not too many other people had this issue. #WhompWhomp lol

Funny story.

A few years ago I went out with a large group for a friend's birthday. One of the girls in the group brought a friend who was pretty cute who I ended up dancing with and making out. After I left one of the girls in the group said *girl who I made out with's name* wants you to text her. I replied "who the fuck is that?" So you guys are for sure meeting up. Tell her to bring a black pen. She will most likely ask why, just reply with "You will find out when you bring it, it is really important". It is a weird request so most likely she will bring it because she is curious as to what the hell you gonna do with it.
