Feminists always love to talk about power imbalance in relationships, and I think it's a very important point to bring up. The one who holds most of the power in a relationship will have more leeway in abusing the other person in a plethora of ways, intentionally, unintentionally, subtly, and what have you.

I'd imagine that the majority of people who frequent this sub are men, and to us it is no secret how incredibly alluring women are, both psychologically and physically. Emotionally speaking romantic relationships are the only outlet where men are allowed to express the free range of their emotions and vulnerable desires, and there is nothing much to say about the physical aspect since we're testosterone filled horndogs.

Thus, it is no wonder why we desire women that much. Women on the other hand aren't as sexually motivated as we are from a biological standpoint, and from a social one although they also desire sex and a romantic connection it's not nearly as pronounced as it is in the average man. All of this to say that I think all men envy women because of that to some degree. Not that they want to become women, they just want to be desired by women the same way they desire them.

I think this is one of the fundamental factors that dominate the psyche of a young man who hasn't encountered much luck in that department. The realization that they will never be desired like that. It feels a bit unfair doesn't it? Coupled with the gynocentric state of the world and some of the double standards it results in a way of thinking that isn't necessarily conducive to neither a healthy mind or a society. The "Incels." But that is beside the point.

Do women realize this discrepancy at some level? Maybe that is why we find a lot of women who feel that it's unfair that they have to benefit the man more and they're still expected to pay half of the bills? That is why maybe some feel that it's already fair for the man to pick up the rest since he's getting more out of it than them? The whole orgasm gap also is worth mentioning here.

Isn't this power imbalance the reason men in romantic relationships feel the need to pay in other ways too? They let themselves bear the blame for everything even though they know they did nothing wrong? They allow themselves less freedom in voicing their real opinions, they avoid taking any emotional space and it becomes exclusively reserved for the woman, and joined activities are rarely something that they enjoy more than their partner? The reason they don't have any say in the house whether that be simply from decorating things as they wish to making spontaneous decisions for their kids.

Of all the power imbalances, this one is the biggest and the least talked about. It affects seemingly every aspect of a couple's life, and it gives untold advantages to the woman in every turn.
