Regret lives in a lack mindset. I don’t carry regret for my TWO failed marriages, because each one helped me grow into who I am today. I choose growth over regret, and with that growth I also know, I’ll never marry again. I have chosen to learn why I choose the people I have chosen and what mistakes I made in my marriages. We only have so much energy and space in our minds, I choose to focus on self improvement, not about thinking whether I would get divorced again or not.

I filed and going through the divorce process. Been a long road. Regret and the fear of my routine changing scared me. But when I looked deep it wasn’t my wife I’d miss, just the things we had. I still suffer from the anxiety of regret and sunken cost fallacy, but I think that’s probably normal. Fear of the unknown too.

As someone who got blindside left and divorced after 30 year marriage, i regret not listening to my teenaged self who swore he would never get married and i regret trusting that my ex was as committed to our marriage as I was so much so that I never once questioned her behavior and misinterpreted it. And regret ignoring/rationalizing / spiritualizing the red flags that were there pre-marriage.

Nope. My only regret is meeting her and bringing children into a world where they have to be involved. I love my boys but I feel terrible for putting them through divorce. That being said, they have coped well and I’m a much better dad because of all of it.

First one, I don't know honestly. I don't miss the ice cold bed. I do miss having her around to talk to about stupid life stuff. I sometimes wish she could see our kid more. But I see how she's living and I'm glad I don't have to be part of that.

Second one, I'm glad to have her gone. It's a red flag when you relax and feel like yourself when your partner isn't around btw. I could never do enough for that woman.

Wasn’t my choice and I would never go back.

You will have moments every week where you’ll want to go back and you have to remind yourself the person you left is not the person you married.

And once you meet someone again you’ll wish you had done it sooner.

Just filed yesterday. So right in the thick of things. Not an easy process. I was unhappy, but she pushed me out. So I was surprised. But even in the middle of things, I see it’s for the best. For most parties, at least.

Not me. I didn't initiate mine, my Ex Wife did. We both made mistakes and both had our flaws. It was not just her fault or mine. But I was making changes needed that I learned in counseling and she didn't..She got called out by our counselor and others and basically just ended it.

I wanted to work it out and keep trying, but she didn't want too. So she wanted the divorce and we got it.

9 Months later she sent me a email profusely apologizing and admitting she was wrong and treated me poorly and blamed me for stuff she should not have. I forgave her, but didn't even think of trying to get back.

I now am with a GF who is without the question the best partner I could ever ask for and I am very happy with her. I wish my Ex Wife well I really do because I will always love her, even through pain and hurt and all that she is a important person to me and while Divorce sucks I would never wish bad on her.

But I have 0 regrets and am happy where I am at.

There’s a lot I regret, and getting divorced is most definitely a thing that I can confidently admit to knowing with all of my heart and soul, that I will never be able to allow myself to, consciously or subconsciously, accept as as an, idea or thought of, regret.

Fear is an emotion that hides: Powerlessness or helplessness, shame, grief or sadness, loving or longing.

I personally believe it’s the loving and longing for me: sometimes fear of rejection, betrayal, or abandonment covers a very real desire to connect, belong, or be cared for.

There were times not too long after the divorce I regretted it. The feelings had to do with kids and the loss of the ideal family.

I put up with cheating, including a pregnancy. Therapy and reconciliation only to be cheated on again.

The regrets I felt didn’t erase the hurt it. It was loss and dealing with. I felt worthless and I was screwed up because I couldn’t make it work. But it was my fault or within my ability to make it work when I didn’t have a partner capable of or interested in being a decent partner.

End it as amicably as possible and never interact with her again, if possible. If you have to keep it simple, platonic, and professional. Don’t relive old times.
