this whole 62 million business is a weak psy op, but people are as weak minded as they have ever been so it is actually probably working.

the number is purposefully inflated in order for rational people to disagree, then the ones propagating it are going to change the goalpost to "well ok its 62 million visits not men" (nevermind the fact that a lot of those visits are women), then whoever has a functioning brain goes "there were actually 1000 people on a telegram channel unaffiliated to the website", then they go "eVeN oNe iS toO maNy, nuMbeRs dOnT mAttEr yOu hAve nO eMpAthY" which basically translates to "if you dont let us keep lying about it you are a horrible human being", rinse and repeat.

If you have a functioning brain though, and if numbers actually don't matter, why do they keep parroting the 62000000?

Her character in the good place was sent to the bad place for doing all of her advocacy and stuff solely for social gain and to outdo her sister. Funny how her real life persona is not too far off from that.

I hate how this logic thread of feminism takes a valid issue, sexual assault and the harm it causes, and just completely twist it to bash men. Sure, many men may be complicit*, but that still does not give any justification to hate the men that are genuinely not. It is valid to critique that line of thinking.

*keep in mind, we don't remotely hold women to this standard, despite clear evidence that they commit a substantial portion of sexual violence.

I keep seeing this mantra of "not all men is not a contribution, it's inaction, etc." But I'm not at all clear what it is we're supposed to do? "Call out this behaviour when you see it." Sure, but do you think I keep the company of rapists, monsters, etc.? Am I meant to go around seeking bad behaviour in strangers and calling it out? Am I meant to be a vigilante?

Like, decent men who are living their lives are not actively enabling egregious behaviour. Yet they should still wear some kind of responsibility for * checks notes * existing?

So, "funny" little story.

Jameela Jamil is literally the reason I had an epiphany about the sheer insanity of feminists spewing all sorts of vile rhetoric about men and boys...yet demanding men's help with their problems the moment they find themselves backed into a corner.

Back during the Roe v Wade debacle, I remember very well that this woman wrote a scathing demand that men "step up" to fight for women's right to choose.

And having been soured on feminism for years by then, and being quite familiar with this particular individual's copious disdain for men and even boys, it struck me that she has zero right to ask for even the smallest bit of help, and certainly no right to harshly demand it as if it were her birthright.

It just snowballed from there as I started to see how many times this occurred, not just from her but many others.

She mentions the Epstein files and the global pedo ring and how "men have done nothing but move on ASAP". I genuinely wonder what people like her ACTUALLY want us to do in this case, or with any other rapists for that matter.

Call them out? Sure, already doing it. No change.

Call the cops if something happens? Sure. Again, no change.

Go through the proper channels and prosecute them? Sure. But in the case of the Epstein files I don't see why we all need to be involved. You don't need millions for a prosecution team. And if no one is prosecuting them, you can really only wait for elections and vote for change.

Vigilante justice after the fact? I mean, if people like Jameela can guarantee the best defence attorney, no death penalty, a cozy prison cell and a relatively short sentence without prison violence or rape and, most importantly, a HEFTY "retirement fund" of sorts (because you'll be an ex-con after this kind of stunt and last I checked landlords and grocery stores don't accept pats on the back and "thank you for making the world a safer place" as payment), then sure? But something tells me she's the type who feels entitled to men sacrificing themselves but will not actually reciprocate said sacrifice in any kind of way.

Literally the best thing anyone can do in a rape case is "nothing": focus on your own shit and let the police and the prosecutors do their work. Same with the Epstein case, do "nothing", wait for elections.

Her argument / rational here is that its not her sole responsibility to look both ways before crossing the street but instead the responsibility is on the people driving cars / buses / trucks etc to see her step out onto the road and stop / avoid her without her having to do anything!

Looked it up a month ago and men rape about as often as women commit paternity fraud. Why do we never see "teach girls not to lie about paternity and ruin the lives of men." Ive never been raped, but i have been sexually assaulted and I'm pretty sure I'd rather be raped than have the most trusted person in my life lie to me and have me raise and love and invest in a child that isn't mind. Maybe I sound gross but id never emotionally recover from the latter. A lot of men die by suicide because of that.

Oh… very much a redditor then. I’m gonna bring a random other name into this because she’s literally like Jameela Jamil, but her arguments at least sound reasonable (despite kinda quietly holding the same disposition as Jameela, from what I’ve noticed). Kidology.

It’s literally just the British accent and the adages. She’ll have one mildly uncomfortable conversation/ interaction, then spin it into an entire slew of video essays trying to “understand” people, analyse social behaviour, or psychoanalyse entire groups from that one experience.

It kinda comes off less like insight and more like dressing personal grievances up as intellectual curiosity.

I would love to have a stalwart interviewer sit her down and grill her about what *exactly* she expects men as a group to collectively do about this problem. Beyond simply not committing crimes myself, what am I supposed to do? Sure, if I see a crime happening, I would try to stop it. But that has never happened and likely will never happen.

Maybe the first place she should look to for support instead should be the government, which apparently thinks its ok to spend billions of dollars on bombing children in Iran but not to stop human trafficking. Maybe she should take this issue up with the actual systemic powers (aka the rich) who are oppressing us all, and aren't composed entirely of men.

This is the most pernicious thing about the gender war. It obfuscates the real war: the class war.

Also, that 1 in 3 statistic is not nearly close to true unless you define SA very loosely to include things that don't count, like saying hi in public. Which is what grifters like her do all the time. Society could literally not function if rape/murder was that commonplace.

Here's another thing too. If men really were evil monsters who rape/murder 1 in 3 women, why would she expect the same monsters doing that to stop simply because she asked nicely? It's completely illogical. It's also very unfeminist for a woman to ask men to fix all of her problems for her instead of taking agency any responsibility to protect herself.

No like really. I had a classmate that had sex with his girlfriend sleeping drunk. He told that to us, when we were like 19. No one said a thing, I remember to this day. He didn't seem to think that was sexual abuse.

It wouldn't be that unproductive to have extra explosion to what is and isn't sexual abuse, no? And how you shouldn't do it, because it hurts others. I can assume the reason why other men don't do it is because someone passed that idea more.

You guys never met those guys? I met several. They are not "traditional rapists", but I've met guys that if the codom falls they don't tell, that don't see a big deal in lying to women to sleep with them, that had sex with their hookups when they were not conscious, and that are generally assholes to women. I was never friends with them but they weren't selective with their crime confessions, and seem quite unaware of both the law and the fact that they were hurting women. I have basically no friends from highschool or uni because I started just commenting this and calling their attention. And I'm a leftist. In the right is way more.
