Hello all-

I noticed after getting out of a long term relationship almost 2 years ago, a messed up trend. I am on the taller side, 5’8, and have had many men, exes tell me that they were intimidated by me at first because of my height.

When the exes did date me, I was the first taller girl they dated. Ultimately, they all wound up marrying a short girl after dumping me. These were guys who told me “I don’t care about your height, I like tall girls”. As if it is a bad thing to be tall, and that they are overlooking some issue of mine.

I realize that many men need to feel manlier and larger than women to feel secure. Many men claim that they love tall girls, model height, etc, but ultimately wind up with short girls because they feel more secure about themselves.

I will never have another guy tell me that height doesn’t matter to them, or stupid phrases like that. It should not even come up. The whole petite small preference for men’s egos is disgusting and borderline creepy. I will only be with men who are secure enough in themselves and my height is never a topic of discussion.

Also- It is so refreshing to be part of a community that is line with how I have felt for a long time. Thank you!
