Three seasons so far, and a fourth being made. Really funny show, but what's best about it is the realistic portrayal of the main characters' sex life.

Spoilers . . . Man and woman meet and start out screwing like bunnies. Pregnancy happens. Man commits. Baby arrives. Sex disappears. Man is desperate. Woman is not interested in the least.

Maybe it's that I'm a guy, or maybe it's the writing of the show, but I very much empathize with the guy here. He does so much for the family, and all he wants is to bed his wife. It would be painful to watch if it weren't so well-crafted and comical. Do you empathize with the man wanting sex or the woman wanting to be left alone?

Maybe my larger question is, "Why do women (generally) have to *feel** like doing something in order to do it?" In the show, it's painfully clear how much the man needs the release of sex, and yet his wife dgaf; she doesn't feel like it. Full stop.

Much of the time, I don't feel like cooking meals for my family, but I do it anyway AND make an effort. Some of those times I even begin to enjoy the process.

Is maintenance sex so wrong to women?
