I think it's the fat acceptance movement that men find irritating. It feels a bit like saying right guys we are moving the goalposts what you think is sexy isn't sexy anymore and if your not on board you're a bad person.

Anyone with a number of fat women on their fb friend list will have seen all the memes "you can't snuggle a stick" "curves are sexy" "this is sexy(pic of fat girl) this is not (pic of skinny girl)"

The ting is a lot of these women still post pics of super cut muscly guys, and it feels like " ah ok rather than make the effort to be sexy you want to change the definition of sexy to be what you are but you still want to define male hotness as super fit "

Plenty of good answers given in this thread, so I'll just chime in with my own personal problems with fat girls.

1) Jealousy. This has really taken a backseat since I'm no longer an incel, but I still recognize just how unfairly easy fat girls have it. I used to be a fat guy myself - still am on the bigger side. I had to bust my ass to get in shape and learn to navigate life, and I still ended up being incel until my early 30s. Fat chicks, even morbidly obese ones, don't need to do any of that and they still have their pick. The fact that they are more often than not (overwhelmingly more often even) assholes about it didn't and doesn't help. The fact that unattractive men are often advised to pursue fat women, despite the fact that fat women's standards are not at all lower, also doesn't help.

2) The way fat women have fucked up the idea of body positivity. As a man with a lot of physical issues, body positivity speaks directly to me. Or should, but doesn't, because at the end of the day almost all body-positive communities are essentially just women's fat acceptance communities with some racial and gender identity issues sprinkled on top. Apparently, it's not acceptable for me to talk about the ways I'm harassed and penalized in life for being a fat androgynous man - no, I need to man up, become conventionally attractive and stop erasing the REAL ISSUE, that being fat women not having as many opportunities to date and marry conventionally hot men as they feel they should. This is currently the biggest problem I have with fat girls.

I guess if they werent fat then then the female SMP would be higher quality. The more attractive girls there are the lower their overall value gets, the higher the average guy's SMP goes.

As it is, if there is a glut of fat girls out there then the average attractiveness is dragged down. So a skinny-but-not facially gifted girl gets a bump of a few points, which can put her beyond her true male equivalent (she can command a more attractive guy due to the market).

fat women are the most entitled dating group, they want guys who aren't as fat as them and sometimes they can get them. Skinny men will sometimes have sex with a fat girl because it is easier than getting someone equal to himself.

So fat women come to expect that they can date these men who will have sex with them rather than their more realistic fat guy equivalent.

This is one of the reasons 80-20 exists. Women will trade easy sex for a better looking guy.

It isn't just fat women, it happens up the chain of all women.

Well they're not really paying attention to the fat guys, because they're not interested in them. If they're not fat, all they see is a disturbing proportion of fat women.

But it's amazing how gendered this kind of fat person delusion is. I had a (female) friend of mine telling me off for reducing my dogs diet, that I should just accept her as she is. This was from the vet's recommendation....

Women aren't getting angry enough at men for being fat, if anything. And there are more negative externalities caused by fat people than just aesthetics. For example, I went to New York to spend a couple days with some internet friends. We would walk around the city, and there was this one fat guy who would constantly complain about his feet hurting. So we had to stop and sit every 30 minutes for his fat ass.

And, as much as I hate to say it, a young fattish girl has negligible chances of getting a fat person disease until there is some major genetic factor pushing her towards diabetis or whatever

You mean at that stage in her life? Maybe. But those dietary and exercise habits will probably stay with her for life.

The thing about fat girls is that they have this huge circlejerking community online where they pat themselves on the back and shit at men for not wanting to date them, and talk about how amazing they are for their "currrves." They are also completely oblivious to their SMV/RMV because they can get laid by desperate or drunk guys. Fat girls are basically female incels, but with a bit more sex.

Fat men are much more quiet about it. Either they accept that they are fat, or they are delusional and think it's muscle. They don't have nearly the social media presence of fat girls.

Here is the thing about averages and beauty.

If we existed in a paradise world where 100% of the population were beautiful. Then even if we scrape the bottom of the barrel in terms of SMV everyone would be much more satisfied.

Fatness is the opposite of that where it decreases the beauty of women overall. If 95% of women are shit what is the point of being the top 20%? You would have to be the top 5% to achieve the matching standard of beauty.

Out of curiosity, do you find that people in real life are angry at fat women? I do certainly see it online. Some TRPers, for example, seem to take fat women almost as a personal insult. But then again, you can find TRPers who hate women for lots of other reasons, too. And the incels and MGTOW can be a hundred times worse. But I've never heard it in real life, and I even know a decent number of gym rats. I'm not saying it doesn't happen and I'm not saying you're wrong! As a guy who once was fat (and not even that fat by modern American standards, more like 75th percentile at my worst), I do hate myself a bit for having taken such poor care of my body. Life is so much easier now that I can run up hills, do chinups, and effortlessly keep up with my kids. Being fit and strong and healthy is glorious.

Plenty of people have seen my transformation, though, and a few of them seem to think that this is a good reason to share all their bullshit excuses about their metabolism, their age, their unique biology, and I just don't want to hear it. It's like, please do what you want, make whatever excuses that you want, but don't tell me.

I feel really sad for the 20-something generation. They're fatter than my generation was at that age. And while plenty of them are "fat but healthy" right now, that's because 20 year olds are fucking invincible.

A lot of these kids are going to keep on gaining. They'll go from BMI 30 or 35 in college to BMI 40 or 50 by the time they hit middle age. They'll go from "perfect blood work" to prediabetes to purple feet, and some of them will eventually be looking at mobility scooters or even amputation.

And some people in the FA / HEAS movements are working really hard to tell us that being 150 pounds overweight is perfectly healthy, and that you're a bad person if you don't find it attractive ("only dogs like bones", etc.). These people are pretty rare in real life, but the ideas filter out in watered down form everywhere.

Because there's also a class related stigma. People who are higher socioeconomic class (not necessarily 'rich') are less likely to be fat. However lots of people who are viewed as plebs are either really fat or really skinny.

Moreover, a lot of toxic masculinity is about lording it over women and defining a female as an object in order to define ones relations vis a vis rich people vs poor people. By dating a chick who stereotypically fits the image of elite people on TV they're lording it over guys who date fat chicks.

I've met at least several girls that seemed to fancy me a bit, but I couldn't reciprocate, because I don't find fat girls that attractive, even though I could really tell that under those excess pounds, there was a beautiful person there (and no, I'm not talking about their personality).

Since they're unattractive to most men, they don't get the benefits of the "Halo effect" - for them it's a neutral, or straight-up harmful, thing.

Also, a lot of them have obnoxious personalities. The tale of the fat "friend" sabotaging a girl's diet so she doesn't have to feel jealous is an extreme edge case, but you get a whole lot of lesser shit. Now, I don't really know if the average fat girl is much more obnoxious than the average person, but I strongly suspect she is. And in any case, the halo effect sure makes it look that way.

I never thought about fat girls in terms of their impact on the SMP, so my dislike had nothing to do with that. But now that I've been introduced to this line of thought, I'm starting to feel a little annoyed at them for that, too. See? Halo effect in action. Maybe.

OTOH, I live in a somewhat less obese society than America, so there could be a cultural rift; and I don't have a high opinion of fat guys, either.

Who cares if men are angry about the existence of fat girls? At the end of the day, each person weighs their own SMV against what they can reasonably get in the market, and then go from there. I think everyone is just about getting sick and tired of men whining about how they can no longer get hot skinny girls, when these men know for sure that they're not worth much themselves. In fact, I highly doubt that these fat girls care that strange men on the internet are 'angry' about their fatness, when these women are enjoying their own dating lives and the pool offered to them. These women are not stupid, they know that they're fat and so they play up some of their other physical or social attribute and use that to get dates/sex/relationships. For whatever reason though, this same wise tactic cannot be said to be used by the low value men who constantly sit behind their keyboards and do nothing with their lives but bitch about fat women.
