I wouldn't want to be with a man who can't take charge of himself. I'm not a fan of wishy washy indecision. I don't need him to take charge of the people around him or be a bully, but he needs to be able to make his own decisions without weeks of waffling or seeking other opinions.

Overly masculine men are actually one of my biggest turn offs. To me, nothing screams fragility and insecurity like a macho attitude. I find that men who lean more feminine are easier to date, more secure, and just generally better partners. I think this depends on the individual's concept of "manliness". To me, a man should be steady, measured, self assured, of service to those around him, calm, sensitive, and kind. If a man doesn't fit into that vision of manliness, that would be a dealbreaker for me.

I couldn't be with a man who was entirely submissive/passive in bed. It's cool if he wants to be once in a while, but if it's a fundamental aspect of his sexuality and he's not able or willing to enjoy switching it up, then no thank you.

I don't want my guy to spend significant time on his appearance. I would prefer poor hygiene to overly manicured. Even lifting is a turn off when done for aesthetic reasons.

Any individual who doesn't have a thorough understanding of themselves and isn't comfortable in their own skin/life should be an automatic no.

Some people would characterize those as masculine traits; I'd argue that many current societal issues stem from both men and women lacking in this department.

The PC notion is that gender roles don't matter and men can act feminine and women masculine.

But they aren't saying that this won't have any impact on your dating chances. They are just saying that society should stop bullying kids just for not being cishet.

If a man wasn't willing to protect me/fight for me/put himself in harm's way for me, that would be a serious turn off. I don't deliberately put myself in harm's way or pick fights with other people, but shit happens (especially when we used to live in one of the most dangerous cities in the US).

I couldn't deal with a guy who spent a lot of time primping and preening. Basic hygiene is good, plucking the occasional stray eyebrow and such is fine. But waxing, shaving anything but his face, wearing a million products in his hair, getting manicures/pedicures, facials etc... no.

To be fair though I don't do any of those things myself either (besides shaving.)

I can't really think of any dealbreakers I consider gender-related. If I were to ever consider a real LTR not wanting kids would be a dealbreaker for me. But I don't think that's really about femininity. I'm pretty open-minded about things. Even having a dick wouldn't be an immediate dealbreaker.

I go the opposite way -- I'm not into guys who are too traditionally masculine because I find them boring and conventional. Also, correctly or not, I tend to read it as posturing. My ex loved thrift shops and was great at dying my hair. My current boyfriend is a crossdresser.

I wouldn't LTR a woman who needed to be the "dom" or who insisted on absolutely everything being "equal".
