Yes women care about looks. But looks alone aren't enough to inspire sexual attraction for most women; they need some combination of looks + personality.

For some reason when women say "personality" guys hear "niceness" and that's all, so let me clarify: personality consists of demeanor, sense of humor, intelligence, charisma, dominance, confidence, mannerisms and all the other non-physical traits that make up a whole person. Different women will have different personality-based attraction triggers, but charisma, dominance and confidence are all pretty universal (I think even TRP would agree with this.)

So yes, looks matter. But they're not ALL that matter.

Of course women care about looks. Maybe not to the extent that men do, but they absolutely do. Saying that women don't care is a blue pill opinion is like the laziest of straw men.

I'd say this is just one of the usual communication issues between RP and BP. To be honest I'd even say that not being able to understand normie language is one of the more common reasons for why one becomes a TRPer in the first place: any nuance is lost on those and they can't differentiate between literal speech and uplifting platitudes all that well.

Let's just look at a hypothetical example. A pre-TRP TRPer whines about being ugly and his mother replies "d'aww don't be sad and stop worrying so much. Looks don't matter all that much and you will find someone that will love you for who you really are". Everyone else would know that this is just a platitude that's meant to cheer him up, but no not him. He will join TRP and complain about being lied to and that women never have any sympathy for men at all.

Society and mainstream media (aka the BPed sheeple (although I'd say that mainstream media has been more RP than BP for some decades now and constantly shows women being attracted to muscular dudes which is just more proof that TRPers have been brainwashing themselves into believing that looks don't matter at all by deliberatly ignoring anything that hinted at self improvement)) are saying stuff like "looks are more important for men", "women don't care about looks all that much", "looks aren't the only thing that matters" or "personality is more important than looks", but somehow all that TRPers hear is "women don't care about looks at all".

So no we don't believe that looks don't matter at all and we also don't believe that society is always telling all men that looks don't matter at all. In fact we believe that there must be something wrong with someone that's older than 3 and hasn't noticed yet that looks do matter.

To a degree. I think looks are a less important element of attraction for women than the way a man carries himself and behaves vs men who seem to be highly visual. That doesn't mean attraction isn't important, which seems to be a point of RP confusion (cough Lewis cough).

Of course we care about looks, when it comes to attraction. "Women don't care about looks" is something most women don't believe.

On the other hand, looks are only one factor of many, and I do think they are a slightly less important factor for women than for men. But perhaps too much time on PPD is what led to that belief...

I have never heard BP say women don't care about looks. But most women are not as visually directed as men, it will vary of course. There was a thread asking women recently if they ever had a deep visceral emotional reaction to a an attractive man's face and most of the responders said "eh once in a while or eh no". That does not mean women don't care about looks, it means they factors other variables in depending on what they desire. Men will ask a woman out based just on her looks, she could be a serial killer or deep in with a drug cartel and if she is hot he will ask her out. Men care mostly about looks and women care about looks to a lesser degree of intensity.

Yeah, I think straight women care about looks and physical attraction when it comes to dating but I also think a man's behaviour is more important when it comes to turning a woman on.

I think it's the first factor of many factors that women look at in a prospective man. On the other hand, looks are by far the most important factor in what men look at in women.

I care about looks very much, just not in a facial genetics sense. Athletic body means they take care of themselves and have dedication and physical skill, good posture means they're confident, clothes that fit well and look good mean they pay attention to how they present themselves. Attraction comes from the whole package and is earned, not dictated by the face a man was born with.

Of course women care about looks: They're human. Almost everyone cares about looks to some degree, and you're more likely to be successful when first hitting on people if you're good looking.

TBP position is that looks or status aren't the alpha and omega of attraction.

The evidence on this is clear. The end statement on this subject has to be the physical appeal of the men women date and marry.

In general, a woman will date/marry the best looking man she can get (who is also a nice guy). When you look at couples, almost always they are pretty evenly matched in physical attractiveness.

If women didn't go for looks/weren't visual, this wouldn't happen. You'd see women with guys who were far less attractive as the usual.

Looks alone create sexual attraction for women. There is no argument. None. The attraction is instant.

But in terms of relationships, women also want a genuine nice guy. I think women are generally more realistic in terms of relationships and want someone who is going to be solid, kind, funny etc.

I think men are often more unrealistic and will marry a woman on looks alone without worrying too much about her personality. Men will often also mould themselves to what a woman wants/likes when they're dating, and then revert to being himself as soon as they're married or living together.

Women care more about looks than men. Or, more precisely, men are treated more harshly when they fail in that area than women are.

The reason people don't realize that is 1) the things women typically demand are ignored when making these comparisons (height for example) and 2) the underlying bias in society regarding the sexes.

Women care about looks just as much as men do.

The difference is that women have to balance looks and ability to provide when it comes to settling down, and as they get older and lose smv. While looks are one of the few requirements men have traditionally so we don't have many other things to compare it to.
