I have friends who were well over 100 partners coming out of college, and most of them were bar and party hustlers with a large group of friends. This was pre-social media. I am way too introverted for that kind of relentless socializing.

Whenever I am feeling promiscuous, I get on tinder and OKC. We meet for coffee, keep things casual. Rinse and repeat. Big time romantic dates do not happen. Too formal, too many expectations.

There's no earning anything for high N count guys, unless you count going to the gym regularly and working on social skills (which can be learned).

Let me give an example. If a man dates a woman and has sex with her after 5 dates and assuming each date had at least 1 dinner, then already he has spent roughly $500 on dinner alone (assuming the meal cost only $100 for two people). Plus an additional $500 on gifts, movies and other things (Majority of women still expect men to pay on dates). So by the time he gets laid he has easily spent at least $1000 on one woman. So if he has slept with 100 women, that is 100 x 1000 = $ 100,000!!! (OMFG!)

I have never spent $1,000 getting a girl to sleep with me.

Beer costs a $1.5 at the place a block from my house. Pizza is 50 cents. You can spend all night there and maybe spend $20. If you are spending $200 a date you're doing something wrong.

Therefore if a guy beds 10 girls in 2 weeks, it is a huge accomplishment.

How much hard work is required for women to get laid? The answer is very little.

Most men I know who get laid put in very little effort as well. The harder you try, the more desperate you look.

Also women have expenses for dates as well. If she's attractive and well groomed you bet she sunk money into the appearance that got her the date. It's not a cake walk to snag a man.

sitting in a hot sauna until you pass out
fitting an entire bottle up your ass

Things that are easy:

learning the Heimlich maneuver (and saving a life with it, if you are "lucky" enough to need it)
adopting a dog/cat
a few hours of volunteer work per month

Conclusion: That something is difficult doesn't make it commendable, and something being easy doesn't make it bad (or vice versa).

Hm. Very few of the men I know who have had sex with 100 or more women I would call "studs" (as with all things there are outliers). They are usually low value (like their women). There's not much point of pride in being Mister sloppy 50ths, 60ths, 70ths. If they brag about it, they are lower value still.

I think most guys who have very high N counts are just bypassing dates altogether. If he's just looking for casual sex, he's wasting his time going after women who have a 5 date rule.

If you think the path to casual sex is through dinner dates and gifts, you're doing it wrong. The trick is to meet the right women. It's easier for you, and you can be honest with them.

The whole 80/20 rule is a mess and it seems that every study I have tried to pick apart indicates that there is this "top" 20% of women out there doing the rounds: the guys and girls with the huge n-counts tend to be playing musical beds among themselves as opposed to some mythical Chad-The-Virgin-Slayer getting in the pants of all the girls with single digit counts.

Setting that aside for the moment, the dichotomy or double standard comes down to the fact that eggs are few and sperm is plentiful. A woman can have about one child a year whereas a man could, in theory, father hundreds of children each year.

It's a whole rK thing: the woman has to discriminate to get the best father each year whereas the man can be indiscriminate, or at least take a top down approach to impregnating a hundred different women in order of desirability.

They maximize their evolutionary return in two different ways and it seems they are judged based on those strategies.

This might be true if isolated of any context and consideration, but in real life there are too many factors that come into play:

1) Women might be more selective when it comes to looks, but I doubt that a woman who goes out to hook up cares about her partner's intelligence, personality or any other trait. The men she hooks up with might have no other redeeming qualities besides their looks. Plus, there's no evidence that women are having sex with men waaay over their leagues.

2) Physical attractiveness is not the only trait correlated with high n counts. Other traits are being overweight (yes, you heard that right), risk taking, drug use, dark triad and high mating effort.

3) It is possible that many men with tons of partners simply have incredibly low standards and fuck anything that moves. This is desperate and hardly admirable.

4) Birds of a feather flock together. Men that sleep around are more likely to find women who are willing to do the same.

5) Men with high mating effort spend too much time trying to get sex. This is not an admirable quality either.

7) Finally, there are many way to show your good qualities. Someone that chooses to do it through sex is like a genius showing his intelligence by writing for a tabloid.

Furthermore, if it's an issue of money paid/effort made that makes him a "stud"...that is very much along the lines of asserting a person is a stud if he pays for a prostitute. Number of sexual partners is no measure for "stud-dom". Much like the rest of the "free market" the measure of worth of something is what others perceive the value to be. So...a guy with a lot of beautiful, aka high value, women who want to have sex with him (without payment) would be high value.

it does create that double standard where women doing exactly the same thing are slut shamed. Double standards = sexist = lack of respect for women.
to reinforces to men that their main goal needs to be sex with as many different people as possible. Some take it too far and obtain the sex at all costs
it ignores that the man who nailed 100 women may have sex less frequently, and less frequent sex seems to counter to men's goals. If every time is a one night stand, you have to spend the time finding your next one nighter. Or hang out in a sleazy night club but consider the type of women. you also never get to know how to please each other, so quality may not be as good. Wouldn't it make sense to have fewer but longer lasting/higher quality partners?
it's just plain outdated. A hundred years ago reliable birth control & paternity testing didn't exist. Back then it served a purpose: to keep women from sleeping around so when she does sleep with the man in question, he knows he won't get burdened raising another man's child. OP, you're going to get a bunch of responses either denying the reality, ridiculing your example, telling him to date better women or simply that it is not an achievement. Really, they won't admit that sex is far easier for women to get and conversely, a lot of effort for men to get. Many women believe men get sex as easily as they do, which is just not true. It is hard work and women really just have to not be grossly overweight to get laid - even that is no guarantee. The ease with which they get laid is why they say things like "it's just sex".

To a man, sex is like an expensive, aged wine or whiskey because of how rare it is. To women, it's like beer because of how common it is. Both will get you wasted, but when you tell women it's way harder to do so because of how expensive the good stuff is, they're going to wonder what you're talking about when beer is so easily available. It's probably why they go nuts when they get a sip of the equivalent of the whiskey you're craving. Keep in mind, men often buy women drinks too ;)

My gf and I split dates from the get-go, and three years later, we still do. I can't think of a single woman in my life that actually expects men to pay for dinner, because it goes against the equality that's been fought for over the past century. If you know people like this, then they're using you, and if you're letting it happen, it's your fault... which leads into point number two; money doesn't entitle you to shit. Just because you spend $100 a date (lol) doesn't mean you've "earned" becoming a stud.
