I’m passionate about helping young women know that it’s ok to say no to anal sex. Boys/men will pressure you no end but you DO NOT HAVE TO DO IT to be loved or desired. Go ahead if you actually want to but don’t let men convince you’re the only one who isn’t doing it or that you’re a “prude”. When is it enough????
[–]Dontstopmenow2021FDS Newbie104 points105 points106 points 5 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
What world are we living in that we have to actually help young girls not be forced into anal? Am I too old to realize this has become the norm?!
[–]Unlikely-MarzipanRuthless Strategist66 points67 points68 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I know. It’s actually scary. This was barely a thing when I was growing up. It was more a “kink” in porn... which was more just about actual adults having sex - which was bad enough in itself and caused problems. But it wasn’t like it is now with old grown men using and abusing teenage girls, and anal being one of the most popular categories. Makes me feel sick.
[–]Dontstopmenow2021FDS Newbie16 points17 points18 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Same! I mean we ended up talking about it in my serious relationship as this slightly taboo thing but that's all...and there was absolutely no pressure.
[–]WildUnitFDS Newbie60 points61 points62 points 5 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I hate to break it to you but it’s the new threshold of sex. It’s become so normalised through excessive porn consumption, some boys don’t even care that much about regular sex - it’s all about ass play. Nothing wrong with it but terrifying that girls tell me they feel pressured - it’s the new limit of “If you loved me, you’d...”.
[–]Dontstopmenow2021FDS Newbie32 points33 points34 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
That makes sense. I have noticed lately that guys I have dated brought up the subject relatively early one while 5/10 years ago it was something that was brought up, if at all, after being in a relationship for a while...Anal the new threshold, that's so scary. I wonder what's next!

I feel you. I’ve been back “dating” now again in my mid 30s and it’s a shit show. This is really what’s happening, these idiots don’t realize how far they’re being brainwashed by pornography. The violence against women all in the name of power. Because they feel powerless on their own, insecure manchildren living in never never land. No reason for their demise except for their own making, and agreement with where society is today. Ravage animals. May God help their souls.

Imagine what an incredible world it would be if people focused more on uplifting teenage girls and less on demonizing them! You see it everywhere - YouTubers insulting young girls, kids in girls virulently hating anything geared towards young girls, male authors and male script writers in Hollywood writing all teenagers as phone-obsessed, vapid simpletons... it's infuriating. It's so rare to see a well-written portrayal of a teenage girl in movies

If anything feels weird, gross or even like it’s just not for you, don’t do it. You don’t need to give a reason.
Say no. Don’t be nice, polite or protect anyone’s feelings when you’re saying no, that’s not your job.
Cultivate strong, healthy female friendships and nurture those friendships. They will be the most important relationships at many stages of your life. Your female friends will be loves that last longer than any romantic relationship. They will help you through some of the toughest times and they will be your cheer squad through the good times.
Talk to trusted adults (women) if you feel unsafe or worried about something. Even if it’s embarrassing. Even if you think you might get in trouble or get someone else in trouble.
Follow your own goals and dreams unapologetically and NEVER change your goals or plans for any boy (opportunities missed/travel postponed/ jobs not taken because you prioritised a relationship will become regrets later.) No boy is worth it.

Many adults choose to support creepy and abusive men though. They might not believe her, or belittle her.
[–]sleeeeepieFDS Newbie26 points27 points28 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You are so right. Hopefully there is someone (a teacher, an aunt, a family friend, if not a parent) with strong Queen energy that can listen, believe and give good advice. Or, there are always the smart, strong women on this sub.
[–]sleeeeepieFDS Newbie24 points25 points26 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I was also thinking about times when I was in unsafe situations (mostly parties I wasn’t allowed to be at) when I was 16 and felt too embarrassed or worried about consequences to call my mum. In hindsight, it would have been a much safer option to call my mum or another trusted adult than staying with the gross creepy guys at the party.
[–]toredtimetravellerFDS Newbie5 points6 points7 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
When you're young you don't really balance the two options logically so it's not you to blame, but I'd advice young girls to ask for help from their family rather than staying in a dangerous situation because being grounded is always less hurtful than whatever could've happened. Unless you have abusive parents like I did, I don't really have good advice for that version because I don't yet know how to deal with it.

Stay far away from older men as much as possible
[–]Unlikely-MarzipanRuthless Strategist94 points95 points96 points 5 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yep. Here to double down on this!
They will make you feel like you’re special and that you’re so mature and the age gap isn’t a big deal. It is. Man that goes after much younger women is grooming them. Many girls may think he’s really in love and see her youth as a positive because it will keep him faithful. It won’t. They will still cheat and lie, and break you down. I know, I was that young girl who had all this done to me multiple times. Men like this are fetishising your youth and love the fact you’re easier to manipulate.
[–]mtan15FDS Newbie35 points36 points37 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bingo! Any man who uses "you're special, you're different " is TROUBLE
[–]HaveNoIdeaWhatToPickFDS Newbie51 points52 points53 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I remember having one "friend" who was an older man (when I was 18), he was super invested and pretended to care about me, but the moment I rejected his sexual advances he immediately forgot about me and cut any contact lol. I swear they could lead you on for months pretending you are the most important person for them only to get into your pants.
And don't rush. Treat him like a best friend and get to know him. Require him to do the same. Don't fall for any 'if you loved me you would...." bull crap. Decide your boundaries and be true to yourself x
[–]AlextheAnalystPickmeisha™️18 points19 points20 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's right - if they're interested in school-age girls, they are NOT mature, they're literally just perverts!
Also, don't apologise for looking out for your or your friends' safety. None of you are obligated to get into a car with a man, go into his house, let him into your house or let him into your personal space. The LV ones will always, always be offended. So what. You're not their mommy, it's not your job to make their booboo better. It's up to them to not be creepy and entitled.
Lastly, if you mean no, don't smile. Don't say "maybe." Don't apologise. It's not mean or horrible. You're just saying what needs to be said in a way that rules out all mixed messages.
[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 5 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
1000% agree, but also boys around her age, who are, sadly, often already pornsick and aren’t mature enough even to have a conversation about it.

anything that your gut feels weird about, don’t do. your world seems a lot smaller in highschool and it can feel like there’s no other options from what you’re being told everyone is doing. that’s not true, you can always go your own speed.
also, if you’re into boys, always ask yourself if they’re doing as much for you as you’re doing for them. whether that’s grooming, giving attention, or anything sexual etc. it should be equal at minimum.
[–]yolosunshineFDS Newbie30 points31 points32 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This is huge. Your world is extremely skewed right now. This is a good thing, in that it’s more titrated for you to handle, but it’s also a hard thing in that every little thing you do or someone says to you carries huge weight about how you might see your world and future. It’s just part of being a teen, biologically and socially, how your brain equipment is developing.
I wish someone had told me that growing up so here it is.
[–]amievenreal99FDS Apprentice64 points65 points66 points 5 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Women have a reliable gut feeling that something is off. That you feel insecure with him, sad, cautious, scared. However, many will allow men to gaslight them that it is "Not so bad, you are just overthinking it, and he is actually a nice person". DO NOT MAKE THAT MISTAKE. Trust this gut feeling. Run.

Which is just another way of saying, "Ignore your intuition, don't listen to your gut or your doubts, pay no mind to the inconsistencies in my words and behavior, don't think too much or you'll figure out my game to use, abuse then dump you!"

Work during the summers, get that shitty zero experience job out of your way early so you aren't making rookie mistakes in your first real job after whatever training you do. (do training, it doesn't have to be college, it can be ANY vocational training. but do it.) Take the jobs you do seriously, no matter what it is. Make a good impression on your coworkers and your boss. You will need them to give you good references later.
Save money early and often, in a separate account from your parents when you turn 18 years old and always in your own name only. As far as anyone else is concerned, that money doesn't exist. That is your fuck you money. As in "fuck you, dead-end job. Fuck you, sleazy boss. Fuck you, abusive boyfriend."

Still better than getting taken for a ride by some boy who doesn’t know he’s taking you for a ride till that morning when he texts you goodbye and is kissing your classmate by 6th period.
Just saying.
[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
yes! i didn’t date in high school either. keep in mind that high school relationships almost never last (and, as you’ll see in a few years, when they do it’s kind of weird). big waste of time and mental energy, especially if you plan to apply to colleges, and more so if you want to apply to competitive ones. focus on grades and extracurriculars (music, sports, etc.) so you can get accepted with scholarships.
also, of course, develop a supportive network with other women: cultivate friendships with other girls. support your female band mates, teammates, etc. ask older women who you trust about their stories and for advice, whether it’s your mom, aunt, grandmother, neighbors, teachers, etc. (i had some awesome english teachers in HS who were great mentors and i still talk to them occasionally!)

Learn about yourself and who you want to be while single. Don't sacrifice your ambitions and dreams for a relationship.
Also basic safety shit: Never be alone with a teenage boy you haven't thoroughly vetted first, and when you get older apply the same rule to men. Also if you need help most older women have your back.
[–]Unlikely-MarzipanRuthless Strategist22 points23 points24 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Yes, so true. Society tries to divide young women from older women saying they are jealous etc. no. Some will be, yes - the pick mes who never get away from needing male attention to validate themselves. But most older women know what’s up, and will protect a younger woman like she was her own cub. They know, because they’ve been through it all before. Older women were the ones who gave me the strength to get through and leave dangerous and toxic situations.

I would be so honoured if, when I'm 40 or 50 or 100, younger women look at me and just know that I'll stick up for them! Can't wait to be there for the next us.

You can always say no to someone touching your body. Anywhere, to anyone, anytime. It doesn't matter if he bought you booze. It doesn't matter if you had a nice date. It doesn't matter if he's your teacher, brother's friend, best bud, whatever. It doesn't matter if you're already having sex. It doesn't matter if he asks if he can "at least" finish. It doesn't matter if he drove all the way over for a hookup. It doesn't matter if he thinks you're rude, a bitch, or a tease. You can say no. Whenever you want. If he doesn't care if you're as into it as he is, he ain't shit.
[–]huevos_and_whiskeyFDS Newbie10 points11 points12 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You can say no to women / other girls touching your body, too. If someone says “it’s ok we’re both girls” but you feel uncomfortable, you don’t have to go along with it.
[–]RhiannonEmiliaFDS Newbie13 points14 points15 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I second the comments saying stay away from older men. I’m still traumatized by a much older man I was victimized by at 20. I don’t want that to happen to you or any other young woman. Also don’t feel like you need to go through a promiscuous phase, it’s not worth it and guys benefit from it so much more than you ever will.
[–]RhiannonEmiliaFDS Newbie11 points12 points13 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Also just focus on school or your career. I poured everything into a relationship with a controlling, insecure guy who was four years older than me (and had a history of dating much younger girls) and not enough energy into school and ended up getting kicked out university after my freshman year, and I had to go to community college (though nothing wrong at all with community college, I just missed my old school). The depression and other issues I had to deal with because of that relationship made me continue to do terribly in school even though I was an AP straight A student in high school, and now I have no degree, no solid career and I’m not even able to go back to school right now. So just focus on yourself love. Wait until you have achieved your own goals at least because even HVM can be distracting.

This includes keeping creepy old men away from teenage girls, including legal teens. The age of consent should be raised to 21!
[–]yolosunshineFDS Newbie34 points35 points36 points 5 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I mean I think we should follow the +/- years rule here too. I personally felt ready at 18/19 to date, but would have been way in over my head with a 25 year old.
The younger you are the more likely an age gap is unhealthy and predatory so it should be smaller the younger you are.
Keep the dating to people near your age.
[–]wayward_womanFDS Apprentice25 points26 points27 points 5 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree. But I think the age of consent should be raised to prevent old men from being able to prey on 18-20 year olds. Obviously people under 21 are still going to be able to date, but they'll only be able to date people their own age (or within 1-2 years if you implement "Romeo and Juliet" laws).
For anyone who doesn't know what the Romeo and Juliet law is:
"The Romeo and Juliet law allows consensual sex between two minors who are less than two years apart in age. It applies when these minors are at 15, 16, or 17 years old. Therefore, if a 15-year-old engages in consensual sex with their 17-year-old partner, the Romeo and Juliet law protects them."
