Never rejected a woman or refused to approach a woman because she was "intimidating".

I did reject or refused to approach women because they were either insufferable or flat out incompatible with me. Women that believe themselves to be intimidating tend to fall into one of those categories.

Most of the time intimidated is used when you don't want high maintenance people. 99.9% of the time men aren't intimidated by a relationship by women at all.

I tend to date type A women with good careers that fit the "intimidating" label.

It's not that men are intimidated by them it's that they can be very difficult to deal with if you're not used to it

“Intimidating” is a total weasel word.

Men are not “intimidated” by a woman that outearns or has more formal education than him. They’re indifferent.

Men are not “intimidated” by a woman with a high sexual partner count. “Disgusted by” or “not attracted to” would be more accurate phrases.

Saying a man is “intimidated” is a way of sugar-coating the truth.

The only possible exception I can think of is if the woman is a heavyweight MMA fighter.

No. But you have to explain what makes them intimidating. Usually a Woman who is extremely beautiful is seen as intimidating because Men don't feel good enough or not in her league so they'll discount themselves and not bother. But I can't think of any instance where a hot Woman made a move and got rejected, more so the Woman wanted the guy to make a move and he never did.

Ha, no. I have rejected women and watched them come up with strange reasons. Often I just wasn't in the mood, or into them.

Hell I had one girl get upset with me at a party because she told me to "do whatever I want" if she passes out. A while later when fooling around she decided to pass out. So I left here there. She got upset that I wouldn't use her after she pretended to pass out.

Women searching for justification of men not being interested are the ones who make these claims. I have NEVER in my life heard of a man being intimidated by a female for any reason except because they thought she was so attractive she was out of his league. Even then, there will be more than enough men chasing the extremely attractive girls so those women aren't likely to believe this either. You'll hear men make up justifications for women not liking "nice guys" too. Which in reality means the guy is likely very boring. In this case, it is probably most applicable to women that are unattractive with unpleasant personalities.

So . . . rejected her? No.

But when I was younger an insecure I didn't pursue some crushes because I thought they were too beautiful for me, hence I was intimidated.

I hear this from women all the time. They’re single because men find them intimidating.

Women are used to be pursued. And they are also used to "dropping hits" which go noticed by guys.

I'm not sure about other men who are generally quiet or timid but I've never personally been intimated by a woman, not physically or on a personally.

Its more that I just don't like overly loud, obnoxious, crass women and it's these women who tend to take that as people being "intimidated" by them rather than seeing their own character flaws.

I've heard claim from women that are successful that men are intimidated by their salary, but it's also been mostly/primarily women that won't date anyone that make less than them.

I really don't think it's about intimidation, it's about whether or not you're a decent person that other people are willing to invest their time into, primarily because they are attracted to you.

When men say stuff like this we are referring to situations where a guy makes $60k/year as a school teacher and he meets up with a $400k/year executive, the man (correctly) knows the vast majority of women will look down on men in his situation, he won’t be able to keep up with her lifestyle, he (correctly) knows she will soon grow resentment at having to pay for vacations and housing with “her money” and an overall lack of true respect for him.

When I was younger and used to approach guys myself some of them would reject that, they wanted me to be shy and coy, instead I was assertive and didn't want to be conquered. I guess I would interpret that as being too intimidating because they were interested initially.

Yes. Men love it if you are “intimidating” in male-identified ways, IE careerist, sports fanatic, video games, blunt communication, etc, because they, themselves share those values/hobbies, but if you tell them you won’t tolerate gendered slurs or any sexist behavior, watch them hightail it away, calling you a bitch all the while. It entirely depends on what kind of “intimidating” behavior.

This whole thread is an example, tbh. “I love intimidating women, so long as they don’t step out of line in this particular way.”
