Theres a whole sub dedicated to men being short on reddit and out of curiosity I browsed it thinking it would be full of like 5 foot guys.....most were like 5'6 and above complaining about being short and I was like wait what since when was that even short..literally at that point your height is not the issue LOL

They like projecting because to them our entire value is in our looks so they assume we are as bothered as them about it. Of course we have standards as well but I have liked a guy who was shorter than me before and I’m tiny - just because the way he carried himself was admirable.

I'm tiny so I don't give a single shit about height. Actually there's a point where it gets wayyyy too much. I've seen women in my friend circles go out with all kinds of men. The whole 6' thing is mostly a meme tbh (though if that's what you like, absolutely go for it!). Personally I care much more about the face and hair.

But then you have men who scored being tall on the genetic lottery and believe that's all they need. Uh, no. What's your height good for if you have a troll's face, complexion, belly and personality?

There was a guy on Dating over 30 that whined about his height so much it was like a trope. Lol. Don't know what ever happened to him. He doesn't seem to participate there anymore. It was to the point that even the more woke men would call him on it every single time. He wasn't even short by US standards. Like 5'9" or 5'10". And he once posted his online dating profile for review & wasn't hideous looking. It was 100% his disposition that was the issue, apparently.

I don't get the height thing. Worked with a guy who was a retired jockey. Irish guy. Fairly attractive & had ridden in a couple movies. He and I had back & forth on work matters enough times that I thought him objectively attractive but wasn't attracted to him. But holy crap! Three generations of women from the same family would come in giggling, "is Neil in today?" He probably could've gotten most of the men to sleep with him if he'd wanted to. He's 5'6", I think? Height isn't that big a deal unless a guy makes it a big deal.

I'm going to take a stab at this and say it's just projection. The whole "men are visual" is being projected onto us so they think we evaluate them in the same way they do us, and the first thing we notice about a man is his height.

FYI: Women are not men! And we don't think the same way you do! Accept it as fact and life will make a whole lot more sense!

Briefly dated a guy in college like this. He was short (maybe an inch or two taller than me, who is 5'6-5'7) and it really permeated his worldview. Everything bad that happened to him he took to an almost personal level. One time at a friendly football game he straight up punched a guy he "thought" was making fun of him.

He would also refer to me as "my girlfriend" whenever talking to people who actually knew me and knew my name. it was like his having a girlfriend (no matter who it was) was an accomplishment he had to brag about. It was so weird that I noped outta that right quick.

I agree but I will say that I hear all the time that a vast amount of women place importance on height which I think is sad.

Unfortunately though from personal experience I can say that most guys I've dated that were short were huge assholes.

That’s what I keep telling my ex bf, who is 5’4. I find him hot as hell, smart, he is ambitious, works out. I’m gonna have a crush on that stupid idiot for the rest of my life TBH. But as a boyfriend he’s 💩. Rude, CHEAP bastard, inconsiderate, selfish piece of shit. I’d happily marry the fool if he was worth my time.
