It's so intellectually dishonest when people make this sort of argument, that there's no reason women can't or shouldn't be the pursuers. Men do not respond to being pursued the same way women do. When a woman is pursued, she typically will not entertain a man she doesn't consider up to standard. When a man is pursued, he often will entertain a woman he doesn't consider up to standard. What does he have to lose? He stands to gain social capital, whether by having casual sex with her or by entering into a relationship with her. He benefits from becoming involved with her, getting to enjoy girlfriend perks and/or sex. His risk of contracting an STD is lower than hers, and obviously he can't get pregnant. He's at far lower risk than she is of being abused or sexually assaulted by his intimate partner. He only stands to benefit.

When men are pursued, they're FAR more likely than women are to entertain a pursuer they're not genuinely interested in. Pursuer women are setting themselves up to be used. And the reason why so many LVM keep pushing for women to pursue is obvious. They aren't willing to put in the time and energy to pursue women they're not genuinely interested in (they reserve that for the women they actually are interested in) but if these women come to them and do all the work they're more than happy to just go with the flow and reap the benefits.

Aside from how blatantly wrong he is, what's with the outright hostility Reddit dudes have toward women who want to be courted? They could easily shrug, say we aren't the women for them, and move on with their lives. But they can't. It enrages these people to know what somewhere, a woman expects a man to make the first move. Between the age of 15 and 32 I have been in multiple LTR. Never have I approached the guy.

Since the beginning of this year, when I broke up with my rebound, I consciously took a break from dating. I’m not on dating apps and not up for meeting men. I still have to reject guys who ask me out.
