YES.

For me it was the anxiety and ruminating over every awful thing they’ve ever did or said to me. I was a big believer in second chances and that people could be changed. BUUUUT, after I blocked these people I finally got the beauty rest I need and my anxious thoughts miraculously disappeared.

Having LV people in your life totally ages you, and having your sleep patterns affected proves it.

The last years with my ex I was sleeping on a cot in a locked room because if I slept in the same bed he would either wake me up multiple times demanding sex until I gave in or just start while I was asleep.

Even after moving to a different room he would come in to do it.

So I sleep like a goddamn Queen in my own bed now.

Now if I sleep with someone, I get nightmares and get all sweaty due the heat radiating from the other half.

This is where i can use biology. It's not normal to sleep on together.

Back in the hunter-gatherer days, humans sleep on the ground. It's flat hard surface and there's no motion transfer. We basically sleep alone

Now see how the majority sleeps. In bed together, where one half sleep habit is in reverse compared to the other half. Snoring, turning&tossing a lot, cold tootsies, different body temperature i could go on here.

Sleeping alone is the best.

Yes. When I was with the LVM I would have nightmares about being married to him or being pregnant with his offspring. I also had a bad dream about him proposing to me with a ring made out of wood. Deep down I knew he was a POS.

Now that he’s out of my life I don’t have those nightmares anymore.

I had severe anxiety and insomnia while I was with my ex. It was gone within a few weeks after we split up. It was my intuition telling me something was wrong (I had the anxiety from the beginning in small doses that I thought were butterflies. The insomnia came later when I started spending more time at his place).

Yes absolutely. I never lived with any of them but I remember laying there suspecting,Or randomly wake up at night suspecting he is cheating because he’s acting weird.

I think I get a dopamine hit now when I’m laying down at night knowing no man is doing anything shady.

I've always insisted on my own bed. Haven't met a man who doesn't snore. But they still found ways to wake me up and be a prick. Knocking to "check I'm awake" (asshole), crashing around the kitchen, slamming doors. It's like they're so habituated to being around seethingly angry women, they think something's wrong when a woman is calm. If I'm not screaming I don't care? I dunno. Men who purposefully piss you off are whack.

My smartwatch is saying I'm getting happier the longer I'm alone 😂

Yes. I can now run on four hours of sleep and it’s no big deal. I am never tired anymore. I am fueled by coffee, rage and persistence. When I do sleep, it feels like I died and woke up in a new life.

Also, I have an adorable collection of plushes and I highly enjoy picking which one I want to cuddle that night. It’s approximately one billion times better than cuddling with some lame ass guy, and no one is rubbing up on me or badgering me for sex late at night. I’ll never give my bed up again.

Definitely, same. I have insomnia so my definition of good sleep is still awful, but I stopped getting night terrors after I dropped my abusive ex.

I also enjoy sleeping alone even when I’m dating a guy I like. Cuddling before bed is fine but I’d like to retreat to my own bedroom after.

Also my skin cleared up (I never had bad acne until that relationship), I lost the extra weight, my hair stopped shedding as much and got shinier, and my neck muscles relaxed enough that the masseuse mentioned I must be less stressed.

This! I no longer stay up wondering what I did wrong or how to get him to stop his silent treatment. I’ve stopped crying myself to sleep and turning up to work with puffy eyes. I’m more well rested after cutting contact with him and when I occasionally dream about him, I even reject him subconsciously!

Yup. My sleep is interrupted, but that's because of staying hydrated and having to pee 2-3 times night, which is very different than being pestered for sex at all hours

Once I dumped my ex and cut off all contact, my mood and life changed drastically.

The same for when I started to date again and dumped the NVM that I had met via OLD last summer after talking to him for nearly 2 months, I finally met him, and boy, did he change after just a week or so... I knew I needed something more in my life when I actually felt unenthusiastic knowing we'd have plans or a date that night. Once I dumped him, I was sad because I'd made a connection and invested a few months of my life. But the relief of getting back my time and energy was too valuable to go back to him.

Yes!!! But this was because my ex husband would always grope me or try to have sex or do awful things while I was trying to sleep. I just thought I needed more sleep or I was just always tired but since getting divorced I have tons more energy and need less sleep than I did before

Yes yes yes, my LVX woke me up every morning with some kind of complaints or orders. It was always negativity that I didn’t need to fucking hear first thing in the morning or he was waking me up to do shit for him. He would also wake me up by blowdrying his hair right beside my bed. Sometimes on his days off when he got a long-lie, I would wake up to shitty tik tok videos at full volume. Now I sleep like a baby every night without him, and have calm and peaceful mornings. 💁‍♀️

My last relationship caused me such high levels of anxiety I developed sleep myoclonus, I’d have hyping jerks so violent I’d wake up multiple times a night. Sleeping alone is so much more restful.

Oh my god so much! When my ex finally left the house for good, that first night I slept like shit. After that, I've been sleeping like a baby every night. I went from taking HOURS to fall asleep to taking minutes. I don't wake up in the middle of the night anymore. I feel rested. I even have less chronic pain flare ups, and when I do they go away faster. Nothing I have EVER done for myself has helped as much as getting rid of my ex husband.

Tbh I do sleep with a different man now and those benefits have stayed. Because he isn't a scumbag and I feel safe with him. And also my son is obviously exempt, I sleep fine when he needs his momma cuddles in the middle of the night too (as long as he isn't too wiggly).
