My wife asked for a divorce 1 week ago today. She texted me tonight and said she was going out with her girlfriend. She accidentally texted me she just got off the phone with Dave and they would be late.

I was like a shot to the heart. 9 years together and I was replaced in a week (maybe less). She even had the gull to say they were just hanging out. Ya, she gave her number to a guy named Dave—someone who I’ve never heard of before so he’s new in the last week—and he’s bring a friend—-but they are just hanging out?!? How stupid does she think I am?

I should thank her, this was the kick in the butt I needed to finally let her go. The old us is dead. I don’t think I could go back to her now even if she was open to it. Yes, I’m heartbroken. Emotionally, she’s much further along.

What sucks is she’s a good looking woman, in her late 30’s, with a good job and smart. She will have no problem finding another man. Me? I can’t even get a girl to look in my direction.
