I filed for divorce 2 weeks ago in New York with two little kids. She has moved in with her Mom and I will be living in the marital home for 6 more weeks, with the walls covered in photos from our marriage and the kids when they were little.

Last night she slept at the fancy hotel we booked last year as part of a romantic package. As I'm typing this, she is probably in bed with another guy getting ready for breakfast that I paid for.

It's been 3 months since separation and somehow I convinced myself I was completely over her. Today, it's hitting me like a brick wall that someone else is stealing the physical affection that we embraced in our marriage.

My chest feels hollow and I am doing everything I can to not cry in front of my kids. Before you say that this is normal and to just suck it up, think about how it felt for you.

Last night, I went on my first date in 15 years and she looked nothing like the photos. She shared so little in common with my wife that I wasn't attracted to her at all. Wasn't planning for the date to go anywhere, just need practice.

What did you do to get past this pain?
