She kept my wedding ring, it was lost for the last year of marriage in the house. She found it, texted me a picture, and said “I’m going to keep it”. I said “ok”. Its meaningless to me, I hope she pawns it, she needs the money. I got rid of alot of things she had given me, threw it away in trash. It was liberating.

I contemplated throwing mine in the river. But in the end, I just threw it in my jewelry box. I don’t know why. It’s not worth anything. I thought maybe my daughter might want it someday.

Mine went into the nearest river. Like you, I paid around 1400.00 for it, but when I tried to sell it, there were very low offers, so I just threw it away, just like she did with our marriage.

My wedding band is sitting in a drawer in a toolbox. Has been sitting there for 3 years since the divorce. It cost around $800 (titanium) I think, probably isn't worth shit now, used wedding jewelry isn't usually. I don't have any plans for it, I honestly hadn't thought of it in a long time until I saw this post. She kept her $6k ring, which is fine, I kept the $4k watch she bought me for the engagement. I do like the watch.

Nope. I bought mine for $20 off of amazon, and have a couple silicone rings that probably cost $100 total. She kept her engagement and wedding band that probably costs aro $3k total. I cringe at how much money I would have now if I never met her. I'm 31 now and I know there's time to make it up, but I'll never get back the financial, emotional, and time investment that I gave for her to just discard me.

Shattered my tungsten carbide band with a hammer and pawned the gold band. Took the diamond out the engagement ring (1.5 karat) to give my daughter one day and traded the band for a watch.

I smelted mine in a crucible with other gold and made a rose gold mix. Then i flattened it on a press. Then in cut a pendant out of it all..

I pawned for a couple of hundreds and used the money to get myself a nice outfit for a date. It was more symbolic than the need for cash.

I got a semi-nice wood box for it and it lives there. I might get rid of it /I might not but it’s really just a tchotchke. Since I don’t know yet it’s just Gina live in limbo for a bit.

Mine is tungsten carbide too, just dark grey with a differently etched middle band in it. Probably worth 1K. I thought about smashing it. Too easy and not fun. I thought about melting it down but I guess it takes 5500+ degrees to do that. Need the fires of Mt. Doom for that. Not practical.

In the end when I talked about getting rid of it, my daughter said, "I'll take it." I asked why, and she didn't really know, but just wanted it rather than me get rid of it.

So I gave it to to her and told her to "Keep it secret keep it safe." 😆

I ended up chucking it out of a car window one day. It was like a $500 gold band, all beat up, and the thought of having to go through selling it for a few hundred bucks maybe. I figured I’d rather make someone’s day in the future, someday hopefully someone finds it metal detecting.

I sold mine for far less than what it cost. If I were thinking, I would have snagged her ring too while she wasn't looking (before filing) so I could sell that too. With what she did, I don't think she deserved to keep the ring.

I never had one but I'd sell it if I did. That relationship is over. I didn't keep anything from it. I'm still good with my adult kids and I have a few pix and reminders of them, but the important part is the ongoing relationship with them, not memories of the past. Live's an adventure and you have to keep moving forward.
