My advice would be to experiment with many ages at this point and figure out for yourself. I’m not sure id even listen to any responses that are specific. This is your new life and you can create it as you want with no limitations.

You can date 28+ without it seeming creepy. But before you date a woman, remember HER age determines a lot.

If she's in the 28-32 range, she might be looking for marriage and kids of her own. So unless you want to go round 2, definitely make sure she understands you are only dating for fun and companionship.

If you are looking for round 2, more kids and marriage, then ya date someone 28-32. Otherwise do whatever you want.

It sounds like you’re using the dating app to fill a void.

Delete the app, and spend some time focusing solely on yourself.. your healing, your well being, your mental clarity.

The last thing you want to do at this moment, is get into another relationship, or pointless fling.

I'd probably set mine for 25-37. Below 25 and they're can be immature and petty with things like jealousy. Plus, you don't want a girl so young that she's making TikToks of her dancing all the time. That's just be annoying. I agree with u/314FinitePie that over 40 they usually are damaged and see "red flags" in completely innocent things. They've been burned and broken so now they're overly-cautious, wary, and scrutinize everything about you.

I'm dating a 27yro and I'm older than you. In some ways it's awesome. In other ways... She can be very idealistic about relationships. I think that if I dated someone my own age she would be more okay with flaws. But I made up that expectation without actually dating someone my age.

I'll be commenting on your other post, but for this, after D-day and the 3 years of dating prior to meeting my wife, I never dated any women older than me. I had that opportunity, but I fortunately had other options and wanted nothing serious. With my ex-wife and I dating in high school, I had no other experiences. I used this 3-year period to heal and "catch up". I was 35 at this time. I kinda thought I looked okay (my mom told me), but it was those other women who saw me doubting myself, and I listened and began absorbing the compliments. The youngest woman I dated was 12 years younger at 23. She meant a lot to me and was almost 'the one'. My wife now is 5 years younger than me, and for us is the optimal age for lifestyle and interests.

Minimum for non-creep factor is A=N/2+7. If you're 42, then you could reasonably date someone as young as maybe 28 before you start looking like a cradle-robbing creep. Works the other way too -- the oldest woman you could date is 70, but I probably wouldn't do that.

I'd say as a guideline I'd stay within 10 years (younger.)

My opinion is to stay close to your stage of life and find someone with similar experiences.

But someone is their 20s is just starting to experience adulthood, has grown up on much different way of life, and many will come off immature in contrast to where you are at in life

I got divorced 2 years ago. I am a bit younger than you. I hate to say this but a big deal breaker for many women that have never been married or have kids is the person they are dating has kids and especially you at 50/50 custody. You might only be available to date 15 days a month. Unless you introduce her to the kids right away, she is going to have to be okay with not seeing you for several days at a time. My ex GF was dating a guy before me and he had 50/50 custody and she wanted it to work, but he was not available much because of the kids and all their activities. She had to break up with him

Best case you can get a 35 year old woman but she is going to have unreal expectations so I hope you have a 100K plus year job, and a nice ass car, and a nice ass house, and willing to buy her stuff and travel all over the world.

Mid 40s women will be easy to get. However, most of them are jaded and bitter single moms with teenagers. But they don't expect much maybe 1 dinner out a week, and a few phone calls and texts during the week. They won't have time to travel because of the teenagers so you will save some $$$ there.

Definitely try to evaluate your emotional well-being. What do you want?
