I hate seeing delusional people talking like prostitution exists because there's "supply first", like women exist to be fucked, and not understanding that the demand was there first. Men have been forcing and raping women for centuries and then they have been creating situations where women are coerced and pressured to sell their bodies to survive.

People defending sex work (defending men's right to have access to women sexually, actually) love to forget that johns are not in it to "help" prostitutes. There are so many men who do not want the sexually liberated, empowered sex worker who gets to decide who she has as her client and which sex acts she performs. They don't want her. They want the girl who has close to zero control of what happens to her, who is desperate and has no choice. Who can't afford to say no.

Any man who pays for sex or nudes is negative value pos. Any man who is indifferent about the topic wants to keep the option in case he feels like buying sex some day. Do not let them act like they don't understand what this is about, too many men play dumb and trust that women will give them the benefit of doubt and a second chance.

i knew a person who was a sex worker. they said it’s horrible but they do it as it’s their only option. they said that men don’t respect their rules and very rarely are the acts that they do consensual. they say to their clients “you’re not allowed to do X to me” yet the man suddenly does it. what are they supposed to do? they need the money to get by and they don’t want to go to the police as it’s not a respected line of work where they live. they say they have to engage with disgusting, smelly men with horrible hygiene and mentioned some of their colleagues have been assaulted by “loyal” clients. all of this doesn’t sound very empowering to me, not to mention the number of women forced into it and trafficked. to me, it is more empowering to women if sex work didn’t exist at all. prostitution exists because there’s a demand for it.

Sex work is nothing more than diplomatic rape. I would think the majority of people would agree that what happens to women in third world countries is horrible. It’s the same underlying concept, first world countries use money instead of brute force that is seen in third world countries. It’s politically correct rape, objectification, and dehumanization. With the same narrative of other larger industry regarding unhealthy or destructive habits.(early days of tobacco and even climate change.) Money controls the narrative or force does. One of the easiest ways to get another person to do what you want is to make the other person think it was their idea, and that’s why sex work is “empowering”.

There is a difference between feeling empowered and actually having power. In our society, money = power, so the reality is that it's the men who hold the power, because they are the ones in control of the money. Even with porn and only fans, the people making the most money off it are the men at the top of the companies.

Ok but what's the solution? To ban it? Can we collectively disappear it in ANY reasonable timeline? Are we or are we not in a patriarchy? Can the millions of women and girl currently engaging in it suddenly be educated women with a job and savings in the bank? Can y'all personally make sure of it? Sex work IS work. It's not really a choice for most of those women, but removing legal protections from them only makes their job even more unsafe; it furthers stigma; and it keeps the power with depraved scrotes in power and the depraved clients. If you don't like a pro-life scrote saying all fetuses matter but then they'll never show up to adopt or financially support said lives; then don't be up in arms about sex work and yet providing no viable solution for the women today, right now, in terms of financial/educational empowerment.

Truthfully I never understood the "sex work is sexually empowering" argument. Isn't refusing men sex instead of making it readily available the greatest expression of sexual freedom?

Furthermore, having sex with specific men out of pure desire instead of a desperate need for money is far more powerful and an actual exercise of bodily autonomy.
