It's a cue to perform and give them a boner over the phone or online. My asshole ex asked me this while I was at work one time (the last time too) via email. He knew I was at work. It pissed me off. He expected me to type out a little porn fantasy for him in the middle of the day while I'm trying to write copy. I just didn't fucking answer him. Like, what the fuck do you think I'm wearing, asshole? My dressy casual business attire. You think I'm going to stop everything to talk about panties or non-existent garters? Frankly, the question made me dry as the Sahara. It was the opposite of sexy.

Back in my pickme days there was this guy I liked who would call me and always ask that stupid question and of course I tried to make it sound all sexy like “oh yea I’m just in bed I’m wearing my baby pink underwear blah blah blah.” Meanwhile I’m up in the sonic parking lot, dressed sooo comfortably in sweatpants and hoodie, face all oily, glasses, and hobo bun, just went to town on a footlong chili dog secooonds before he called lol😅.

Sorry, but I remember the first time I got this from a guy.
I was 14yo, talking to a guy I met through chat.
He was -in hindsight - a really fucked up horndog that constantly tried to turn our chats into something sexual, with me being either 1.) oblivious or 2.) very uncomfortable to it.

One of the things was the question "Oooh, but what are you wearing?"

"...clothing?"

"What kind of clothing ;-) ."

"Dude, wtf do you care what I'm wearing. I'm wearing boring-ass PJs I got from my mom with a dog that says "Peace yo" on it."

I blocked him down the line because he constantly wanted nudes & sexting from me. Me. A girl he didn't even know, didn't even know how I looked, but was still desperate enough because I was 2 years younger than him and a girl.
